What is revitalash dischem Canon CanoScan Lide 300 scanner; 1.7" x 14.5" x 9.9" gift for grandma?

In my all porpoise printer/scanner the scanner craped revitalash dischem out and revitalash dischem this revitalash dischem was a great way to get the scanning revitalash dischem back with out replacement of the whole thing.Scan documents revitalash dischem quickly and easily with revitalash dischem fast scanning up to revitalash dischem 10 secondsDigitize documents and images thanks to revitalash dischem 2400 x 2400 dpi resolution, and revitalash dischem with image enhancements, revitalash dischem such as revitalash dischem fade correction revitalash dischem and dust revitalash dischem reduction, revitalash dischem your photos revitalash dischem will continue to look greatEs una buena escner. Buena revitalash dischem calidad. I bought revitalash dischem this to revitalash dischem be revitalash dischem able to scan my mother-in-law's documents when we visited her as I am revitalash dischem managing her finances. As home I use a printer/scanner revitalash dischem that supports duplex revitalash dischem scanning. While revitalash dischem this revitalash dischem scanned is not top of the revitalash dischem line it revitalash dischem works very well, is revitalash dischem USB powered - revitalash dischem I run revitalash dischem it from revitalash dischem my revitalash dischem laptop - and the revitalash dischem software it revitalash dischem comes with also works well. If revitalash dischem you have small scanning needs or portable revitalash dischem needs like I do it is fully adequate.I revitalash dischem did not need tech support but had to fill in that area.Bought this scanner revitalash dischem to create a slideshow for revitalash dischem my fathers manorial revitalash dischem service. All the revitalash dischem old pictures looked great even when projected revitalash dischem up on a large revitalash dischem screen.Canon CanoScan LiDe 400 revitalash dischem Slim Scanner, sold by Canon. After almost 20 revitalash dischem years of reliable performance, my trusty Microtek SlimScan revitalash dischem C6 flatbed finally revitalash dischem bit revitalash dischem the dust. I seriously considered buying another C6 (new old stock) because revitalash dischem it revitalash dischem was so reliable, revitalash dischem easy to use, revitalash dischem and full of features. BUT, revitalash dischem the C6 probably won't revitalash dischem interface well with newer versions of Windows revitalash dischem (i.e., revitalash dischem anything later revitalash dischem than XP), so I decided to revitalash dischem look for something revitalash dischem newer. For $ 90, the LiDe 400 seemed revitalash dischem to fit both revitalash dischem my budget and needs. Here's the PROs and CONs I have found:PROs:1. Really inexpensive2. Pretty revitalash dischem simple to install on any revitalash dischem Windows computer with Win revitalash dischem 7 or higher.3. Does a really decent revitalash dischem job of scanning documents revitalash dischem and photographs (see revitalash dischem below).CONs:1. Doesn't come with a revitalash dischem manual (hardcopy or on the revitalash dischem CD), and there doesn't seem to be a way to download a whole revitalash dischem manual from the Canon LiDe revitalash dischem Website (it's a revitalash dischem pain in revitalash dischem the ass to have to find the information you are revitalash dischem looking for, revitalash dischem piece by piece, on the Website... a downloaded revitalash dischem complete revitalash dischem manual would be so much easier).2. The cable from the scanner revitalash dischem to computer is relatively short (a little less than 5 feet). revitalash dischem That's fine for hooking to my laptop revitalash dischem that sits revitalash dischem adjacent to the scanner, but doesn't work for my laptops revitalash dischem or PC that are at more distant workstations. It would be revitalash dischem really revitalash dischem nice if Canon revitalash dischem provided a cable that is 2 - revitalash dischem 3 time revitalash dischem longer, or revitalash dischem at least provided cable specifications so revitalash dischem you revitalash dischem could buy an appropriate longer revitalash dischem cable (it's apparently revitalash dischem a "special" cable... you can't just use revitalash dischem a run-of-the-mill revitalash dischem extension).3. You revitalash dischem can't remove the scanner bed cover to facility scanning larger media. With my C6, you could take revitalash dischem off revitalash dischem the cover so you could scan large media like maps without having revitalash dischem to fold (damage) the original. For me, revitalash dischem this is revitalash dischem the most serious downside to the LiDe 400, revitalash dischem and is something revitalash dischem Canon could revitalash dischem have easily revitalash dischem rectified revitalash dischem with a different type of revitalash dischem cover revitalash dischem hinge.4. revitalash dischem Apparently revitalash dischem doesn't work with revitalash dischem earlier version of Windows. I'd really revitalash dischem like to use the scanner with my old XP desktop, because I have lots of really good XP-based image processing software. The work-around revitalash dischem appears to revitalash dischem be revitalash dischem to buy revitalash dischem VueScan drivers from Hamrick. That revitalash dischem will be revitalash dischem one revitalash dischem of my next tasks. As far revitalash dischem as use, so far I have revitalash dischem been reasonably revitalash dischem satisfied revitalash dischem with the Canon LiDe 400.I used the front buttons revitalash dischem to revitalash dischem scan pages and revitalash dischem create a pdf document, and it revitalash dischem was a really revitalash dischem simple revitalash dischem and intuitive process. The Auto Scan front button revitalash dischem made revitalash dischem a decent copy of a photograph, revitalash dischem but you can get revitalash dischem much better photo scanning results (including higher resolutions than what revitalash dischem "Auto revitalash dischem Scan" revitalash dischem provides) using the revitalash dischem Twain compliant ScanGear software revitalash dischem that is revitalash dischem included.ScanGear lets you do some limited image revitalash dischem correction revitalash dischem and post-processing. revitalash dischem It's OK, revitalash dischem but revitalash dischem the ULead PhotoImpact software that revitalash dischem came with my Microtek SlimScan C6 was FAR more versatile. revitalash dischem In particular, ScanGear has very revitalash dischem limited options for descreening when scanning printed images (like newspaper or magazine articles, or some types of laser printed revitalash dischem originals). I'm really hoping that when I install the revitalash dischem VueScan drivers revitalash dischem on my XP machine, I can interface the LiDe 400 with the much better PhotoImpact image processing revitalash dischem software that I already have.Overall... the Canon LiDe 400 revitalash dischem scanner is a decent, inexpensive, basic-use flatbed revitalash dischem scanner. For most people who just want revitalash dischem to scan letter-size documents, revitalash dischem or digitize a revitalash dischem bunch of revitalash dischem photographs with good resolution, this scanner will more revitalash dischem than suffice.FINAL NOTE: Like most inexpensive flatbed revitalash dischem scanners, you are limited to original documents revitalash dischem that are no more than 8.5 x 12 inches in revitalash dischem size. Supposedly, there is a way revitalash dischem to scan larger originals revitalash dischem in pieces, and then revitalash dischem "stitch together" the revitalash dischem pieces revitalash dischem to create a full-size digital product. revitalash dischem I haven't tried revitalash dischem this feature, so I can't tell you revitalash dischem if it revitalash dischem really revitalash dischem works as advertised or not.Original review: revitalash dischem 15 June 2022. This review will be updated once revitalash dischem the Hamrick VueScan drivers revitalash dischem are installed, revitalash dischem or if any problems with the revitalash dischem scanner are subsequently found.Enjoy revitalash dischem ease of use with 4 'EZ' buttons. With auto scan revitalash dischem mode, the revitalash dischem Scanner automatically detects what you're scanning; revitalash dischem Built in PDF button, revitalash dischem easily scans and saves pdf's that are editable revitalash dischem and searchableI revitalash dischem bought this scanner revitalash dischem after my old LIDE 60 that I picked up at a rummage sale for $5 gave up the ghost. revitalash dischem I'm a musician, and primarily use this revitalash dischem to scan sheet music that I can put revitalash dischem into my working notebook for practice and marking up. revitalash dischem It does a great job. Scans are fast revitalash dischem and clean. The lid revitalash dischem accommodates books revitalash dischem of different width, and it has a slim profile revitalash dischem that revitalash dischem lets revitalash dischem me keep revitalash dischem it tucked away in revitalash dischem a drawer when I'm not using it. The use of a USB C port on the revitalash dischem back is a nice touch and revitalash dischem forward looking. I'm using it revitalash dischem with an M1 Mac running 12.3 Monterey, revitalash dischem and everything works fine.I will revitalash dischem advise anyone who is using this revitalash dischem scanner, revitalash dischem or any other scanner, revitalash dischem to revitalash dischem not use the revitalash dischem software it ships with and rather buy revitalash dischem a revitalash dischem lifetime license to revitalash dischem VueScan. I revitalash dischem bought my license back in 2004 and it's been an incredible deal. Sure, revitalash dischem the license costs almost as much as the scanner, revitalash dischem but revitalash dischem it unlocks so much power and can be used with any scanner, past revitalash dischem and revitalash dischem present. It's why I was revitalash dischem able to revitalash dischem previously pick up the "obsolete" LIDE 60 several revitalash dischem years ago, it's what I used to digitize revitalash dischem film back when revitalash dischem I revitalash dischem had revitalash dischem a film revitalash dischem scanner. It will give you better scans and will be supported long after the LIDE revitalash dischem 400 is pulled from the market. This is a great little revitalash dischem scanner, and revitalash dischem I highly revitalash dischem recommend revitalash dischem it.I have owned revitalash dischem 2 revitalash dischem other Canoscan revitalash dischem LiDE scanners - #20 and #60. I gave one away and wore out the other. The 400 is more advanced revitalash dischem and revitalash dischem has much higher revitalash dischem resolution, revitalash dischem yet faster. revitalash dischem The software is similar and improved, but revitalash dischem I revitalash dischem can see where revitalash dischem a revitalash dischem user revitalash dischem who has no experience with this series might be a bit put off. revitalash dischem The advanced revitalash dischem features are not 'on top' but very valuable and revitalash dischem 'stay in place' once set.Important: There is a slide lock on the bottom of the unit, and is shipped locked. If you revitalash dischem carry it revitalash dischem around, lock the slide. That prevents mecahnical revitalash dischem damage revitalash dischem to revitalash dischem the scanner bar. (I didn't do that revitalash dischem with my 60 model, and that revitalash dischem probably caused it demise.) Well worth the price for this improved revitalash dischem model.Like revitalash dischem many people these days, revitalash dischem we never looked at our albums which had photos revitalash dischem dating revitalash dischem back revitalash dischem to the revitalash dischem early 1900s. We wanted to get them in the revitalash dischem cloud where we could share them family revitalash dischem and revitalash dischem make revitalash dischem sure they revitalash dischem were preserved. revitalash dischem A friend at Apple suggested this model for revitalash dischem the revitalash dischem task. It was very easy to set revitalash dischem up with my MacBook (go revitalash dischem slow, some revitalash dischem of step 2 happens AFTER step revitalash dischem 3 which I think is what tripped some people up.) It conforms to all sizes revitalash dischem of photos and the revitalash dischem quality is revitalash dischem excellent.
