Ultimate Performance. Uncompromised Battery Life: Speed up tasks with AMD Ryzen 7 5800U processor with Zen 3 Core Architecture, available br soankbang for ultrathin laptops, so you br soankbang can save time and br soankbang get back to creatingPorts For br soankbang All Your Accessories: USB br soankbang Type-C br soankbang Port USB 3.2 br soankbang Gen 2 (up br soankbang to 10 Gbps) DisplayPort br soankbang over USB Type-C & USB br soankbang Charging, 2 USB br soankbang 3.2 Gen br soankbang 1 (1 br soankbang Power-off br soankbang Charging), HDMI 2.0 with HDCP br soankbang support, Headphone/Microphone-in br soankbang Jack, DC-in for AC adapterMade to Move: At just 3.06 lbs, br soankbang this br soankbang Acer Swift X laptop is ready to br soankbang go br soankbang where you go. The metal design is thin and lightweight, but packs a whole lot of battery power with br soankbang fast charging capabilityThis is by far br soankbang one of the br soankbang best Windows laptops I have ever owned. It br soankbang came with minimal br soankbang bloatware (much of which I cleaned up br soankbang upon br soankbang receiving the br soankbang laptop) br soankbang and the memory and processor performance of my personal laptop keep up with high loads: br soankbang multiple br soankbang virtual machines running, WSL running br soankbang Linux, Firefox, VSCode, Spotify, br soankbang Teams and Outlook run almost constantly on my laptop br soankbang with no gaps in work or delays from loading.I originally intended to make br soankbang a lot br soankbang of use br soankbang of br soankbang the br soankbang RTX 3050Ti br soankbang that's in this laptop, but I have yet br soankbang to put it through the ringer with synthetics or processing loads. I have no br soankbang doubt it br soankbang runs rather well, as br soankbang I have connected numerous displays to the br soankbang laptop using USB-C and br soankbang USB 3.0 and found no issues. There are a br soankbang couple things I br soankbang should mention about br soankbang the laptop that aren't really cons, at br soankbang least not for me. The keyboard is br soankbang a general chiclet style br soankbang keyboard, br soankbang the same br soankbang you find on br soankbang most laptops these days. Surprisingly, br soankbang the keys br soankbang have a bit of travel and tactile br soankbang feedback for br soankbang a br soankbang chiclet keyboard, so br soankbang they are fine br soankbang for br soankbang the coffee br soankbang shop or on-the-road. Key brightness br soankbang is minimal, it would be useless in sunlight anyway. The screen does not br soankbang get tremendously bright, but I br soankbang have used br soankbang it in br soankbang direct Florida br soankbang sunlight without issue. The br soankbang mousepad is a bit br soankbang frustrating br soankbang at times, but br soankbang it is br soankbang hardly different from most laptops on the br soankbang market. It functions well and has a wide plane for my br soankbang larger hands. The fingerprint br soankbang reader is br soankbang nice, I br soankbang hardly use it. Camera is good for a laptop, it isn't an br soankbang amazing br soankbang quality, but for business meetings and talking br soankbang with br soankbang friends br soankbang it will be br soankbang more than enough. There br soankbang is an HDMI port, one br soankbang USB-C port, and one USB 3.0 (with power delivery) port br soankbang on the left. One more USB 3.0 port on the right along with a 3.5 jack for headphones or a br soankbang headset. You br soankbang can charge br soankbang the laptop with the USB-C port, but br soankbang make br soankbang sure your charger or the USB-C hub can deliver br soankbang 90W of power to br soankbang match the stock power supply. Less than br soankbang that and you may see your battery br soankbang decrease br soankbang under a reasonable load. I do recommend getting br soankbang a br soankbang USB-C br soankbang charger as the included power supply connector is tiny br soankbang and br soankbang seems like a single fall away from the shaft breaking off.I would br soankbang 100% recommend this laptop for someone who does a lot of br soankbang computer work, maybe not a gaming machine but it will br soankbang at br soankbang least code br soankbang games br soankbang and test them without issues. You could probably play some recent AAA titles on lower settings.Using Alexa on your br soankbang PC is as easy as asking a question. Just ask and Alexa can check your calendar, br soankbang create lists, play music, answer br soankbang questions, read the news and more.Windows Hello br soankbang with br soankbang Fingerprint Reader: br soankbang Biometric fingerprint reader and br soankbang Windows Hello sign-in options help br soankbang keep br soankbang your br soankbang Acer PC secureA br soankbang True Visual Representation: Create br soankbang your best content on the br soankbang 14" br soankbang Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS Widescreen LED-backlit 100% sRGB display with 300 nits brightness and 16:9 br soankbang aspect ratioHear It to br soankbang Believe It: Stream music, play br soankbang back videos, and br soankbang hear it all with optimized br soankbang bass response and distortion prevention from DTS Audio in the dual front-facing speakersInternal Specifications: br soankbang 16GB LPDDR4X br soankbang memory (maximum br soankbang 16GB); br soankbang 512GB NVMe SSD; 802.11ax br soankbang Wi-Fi 6 Dual-Band 2.4 GHz br soankbang and br soankbang 5 GHz br soankbang featuring 2x2 MU-MIMO technology; Bluetooth 5.2RTX, It's On: The latest NVIDIA br soankbang GeForce RTX br soankbang 3050 br soankbang Ti Laptop GPU br soankbang (4GB GDDR6 VRAM) br soankbang is powered by award-winning Ampere architecture br soankbang with new Ray Tracing Cores, Tensor Cores, and streaming multiprocessors supporting DirectX 12 br soankbang Ultimate for incredible creativityAspect br soankbang Ratio:16:9Jack of all trades br soankbang laptop that br soankbang does everything pretty well. Ill br soankbang go over br soankbang some of the important categories in detail. br soankbang I br soankbang did end up returning this br soankbang laptop for br soankbang reasons Ill mention but it is a good device overall.Build Quality -Build br soankbang quality is good overall with metal construction and not too much flex on br soankbang the chassis br soankbang or lid of the br soankbang laptop. It has some br soankbang upgradability with a second, empty br soankbang m.2 br soankbang drive slot. Which is pretty nice since you can expand on the original 512gb br soankbang SSD without having to br soankbang replace it. The RAM is soldered onto the board and, therefore, cannot be br soankbang changed. 16GB should be enough for most br soankbang cases, but again, br soankbang with them marketing towards creators the br soankbang option br soankbang to expand past 16GB may have br soankbang been nice even if only br soankbang a single so-dimm br soankbang slot was br soankbang accessible like in the br soankbang Asus g14 br soankbang for example.I/O -I/O is solid for br soankbang a 14 br soankbang inch laptop with it housing 2 br soankbang USB type As, 1 USB 3.2 type br soankbang C (charging capable), a br soankbang mic/headphone combo jack, and an br soankbang HDMI port. Though br soankbang for a device br soankbang marketed br soankbang as a "Creator Laptop" Id have expected either br soankbang a br soankbang full size or at least micro sd card reader.Keyboard/Touch pad br soankbang -The keyboard provides br soankbang a nice typing br soankbang experience. Though the keys are br soankbang a little br soankbang mushy for my liking. The touch pad is also very solid with a br soankbang smooth surface and accurate tracking. Could be a br soankbang little larger possibly but is fine for the size of br soankbang the laptop.Battery Life-Battery life is br soankbang pretty good for this br soankbang segment. Could br soankbang probably find better at a similar price br soankbang but given the br soankbang hardware in this laptop it is plenty good I'd say. I br soankbang was generally reaching br soankbang around 7-9 br soankbang hours at br soankbang 50% brightness and with background apps disabled. br soankbang Usually while web browsing, watching videos, and coding in Visual Studio. Make br soankbang sure to turn br soankbang off one drive br soankbang syncing though as its on by default br soankbang and drastically lowers battery life.Display -The Display is both a pro and a con for me. It is very br soankbang bright and color accurate but br soankbang it br soankbang is not very good for gaming. Now this is not a gaming laptop so i was not expecting a br soankbang high refresh br soankbang rate br soankbang display or anything along those lines. What I br soankbang was not expecting was to be br soankbang so impacted br soankbang by the high response time br soankbang of the display. Every game br soankbang I played experienced ghosting and was generally not very responsive. It ended up br soankbang being br soankbang a deal breaker for br soankbang me as, while I br soankbang bought this for university br soankbang primarily, br soankbang gaming is an important 2nd use br soankbang case br soankbang for me. The performance is not the problem br soankbang as ill touch on br soankbang shortly, br soankbang but the br soankbang screen hinders the br soankbang gaming br soankbang experience br soankbang too heavily for me. This is a subjective br soankbang opinion as br soankbang I am sure it wont br soankbang be a problem for most and it may have to do br soankbang with the fact br soankbang that I have always br soankbang had br soankbang a high refresh rate br soankbang display br soankbang on br soankbang both laptop and desktop for the past few br soankbang years but its an issue for me nonetheless.Performance -Performance is great for the price and size br soankbang of the br soankbang laptop. My model was equipped with the R7 br soankbang 5800u + 3050ti. This combo could handle pretty much any workload I threw br soankbang at it. I never completely stressed the 8 cores and 16 threads the br soankbang CPU had to br soankbang offer but I did br soankbang not experience slowdown when coding in visual studio or when I had a br soankbang large br soankbang amount of chrome tabs br soankbang open. I am not br soankbang a content creator but br soankbang I br soankbang would imagine br soankbang this hardware combined br soankbang with the br soankbang color accurate display would make it a great fit for any kind of photo or video br soankbang work, as it should given br soankbang its br soankbang advertised towards this use case. For the gaming side, the 3050ti in this thing br soankbang is br soankbang only a 40w part but its br soankbang no slouch. Easily beating out integrated graphics or the underwhelming MX br soankbang line of dedicated GPUs br soankbang from Nvidia. There wasnt a single game I tried that br soankbang was unplayable. Even cyberpunk can hit 60fps with DLSS. The br soankbang most graphically intensive game br soankbang I consistently play at the moment is Battlefield V which will run at a steady 60fps br soankbang on medium br soankbang or 50-60fps on high with br soankbang some dips. br soankbang The 3050ti in here seems br soankbang to be on br soankbang par with a br soankbang full wattage br soankbang GTX br soankbang 1650ti while trading br soankbang some br soankbang blows here and there from what I have seen. Again, certainly br soankbang not a gaming laptop, especially given the screen, but br soankbang it is more than capable of allowing you to play pretty much any game in your br soankbang library at some level of settings. Pretty br soankbang impressive br soankbang for br soankbang a laptop with this combination of price br soankbang and portability.Thermals/Acoustics -Thermals are a br soankbang strong point of this laptop. Unlike full fledged gaming br soankbang laptops, br soankbang the 3050ti in br soankbang here br soankbang is br soankbang a bit easier to handle. As such, this br soankbang laptop running only a single fan. While the CPU br soankbang can run a little toasty from time to time it will usually br soankbang spike br soankbang then drop to a more br soankbang comfortable operating br soankbang temperature. Seemingly up to around 95C then settling in the br soankbang low to mid br soankbang 80s br soankbang in my testing. The GPU br soankbang stays br soankbang pretty cool at all br soankbang times, even br soankbang when being br soankbang maxed out. Thankfully, due to that single br soankbang fan, even under load the br soankbang laptop does not get br soankbang very loud. I did not test the exact decibel count br soankbang but its quiet enough to where I could play br soankbang a br soankbang game without worrying about putting on headphones br soankbang as opposed to a traditional br soankbang gaming laptop where br soankbang eventually jet engine mode br soankbang activates. That br soankbang said, br soankbang when br soankbang installing programs and br soankbang doing some other seemingly mundane tasks that can put a little stress on the CPU, the fans will br soankbang spike which br soankbang can be annoying.Closing br soankbang Thoughts -Overall I really br soankbang liked br soankbang this br soankbang machine. br soankbang It offered good performance, battery life and br soankbang build quality br soankbang for a br soankbang good price. br soankbang The display ended br soankbang up being a deal br soankbang breaker because gaming is too high of a priority for me to compromise in that area. Which this laptop showed me honestly as I br soankbang was not br soankbang expecting br soankbang it br soankbang to be something br soankbang I found br soankbang to be such a problem. br soankbang All that said, it probably wont br soankbang be an br soankbang issue br soankbang for most br soankbang and if it sounds like it would be to you Id br soankbang recommend looking elsewhere. Otherwise this br soankbang is a great option for br soankbang pretty much anyone looking for br soankbang a good all around device in this price range.
