What is x hamster x EVGA 06G-P4-2068-KR GeForce RTX 2060 KO Ultra Gaming, 6GB GDDR6; Dual Fans, Metal Backplate gifts for children?
I really x hamster x like x hamster x this graphics x hamster x adapter. Deciding which x hamster x card to x hamster x get was a multi-day challenge. I was a x hamster x diehard x hamster x ATI x hamster x fan for decades but decided to try x hamster x NVidia x hamster x this time. I'm not disappointed. x hamster x My old AMD HD Radeon wasn't cutting it with 1080p conversions so I got x hamster x this so I wouldn't burn x hamster x out my 2nd Gen Intel CPU. x hamster x My machine x hamster x now runs conversions with no CPU load. x hamster x I decided to try it on all of my old games x hamster x (hl, x hamster x hl2, counter-strike, x hamster x even quake/quakeII) with the highest x hamster x absolute max settings x hamster x and get exceptionally high framerates. Even x hamster x WoW runs at over 60fps. x hamster x I can't hear the GPU cooler over my chassis fans. x hamster x My x hamster x old card sounded like a hair x hamster x dryer.Even though I expect x hamster x the price to fall x hamster x further, x hamster x this x hamster x was x hamster x still an excellent buy at $230.The card has x hamster x generous GDDR6, decent clock speed, plenty of CUDA cores, (and Ray Tracing) for that price. And I compared them ALL. To x hamster x be honest, the next-day shipping x hamster x option tipped the scales x hamster x a bit. But I traded that off x hamster x for aesthetics. Although it is x hamster x extremely x hamster x well-built and looks good, the card isn't a showpiece x hamster x with x hamster x disco lights. The back of x hamster x the card shows x hamster x circuitry instead of a finished coverplate. On the plus x hamster x side, better cooling.amazingly quiet during gameplay, x hamster x handles just x hamster x about any game i play at 1080p 165fps(monitor is x hamster x 165hz and it runs x hamster x most games at or above 165 fps)Built for EVGA precision x hamster x X1 all-metal backplate, pre-installedPlays all my favorite fps x hamster x titles without any stutter x hamster x and the single fan should x hamster x not x hamster x be x hamster x any x hamster x worrries if you x hamster x are not a very heavy user.3 year & EVGA's top x hamster x notch technical support.Dual fans offer higher x hamster x performance cooling and x hamster x much quieter acoustic x hamster x noise.I got this card at $250 which at that price point I feel is x hamster x quite x hamster x good x hamster x considering in that market its competing x hamster x against 1660s. That being said the card x hamster x runs hot at around 83 x hamster x degrees for me x hamster x and could be a bit loud for some peoples standards but x hamster x not mine x hamster x in x hamster x particular. Its x hamster x quite thick and cant use x hamster x my PCI x hamster x network x hamster x card x hamster x because x hamster x of that but I mostly x hamster x play on Ethernet either way. You should consider case ventilation solutions x hamster x if you get this card to manage the temps better imo.great buy for x hamster x the x hamster x price.system x hamster x previous specs amd x hamster x am3 fx8350 cpu, 32gb ram, x hamster x nvidia sli 590 , idle 480watts, x hamster x gaming 1150+watts, now idle 120watts, gaming under x hamster x 400watts.works great . will x hamster x help alot on electric billThis is quite possibly the x hamster x best graphics card for budget builds even after the 2-year shortage. x hamster x Its a card that can x hamster x play most modern x hamster x games at 1080p or 1440p at high settings and achieve x hamster x 60fps x hamster x pretty easily. It also doesnt require x hamster x a lot of power and has x hamster x your standard PCI-E x16 (gen 3) x hamster x connection. Its small enough to x hamster x fit in most compact cases. For the money, x hamster x this is an amazing card! x hamster x The one x hamster x downside x hamster x is x hamster x that, during intense graphical use, both x hamster x fans will x hamster x kick in and make enough noise to be x hamster x noticeable, though x hamster x its not too loud.Real x hamster x Boost Clock: 1680 MHz; Memory detail: x hamster x 6144 x hamster x MB GDDR6EDIT: x hamster x This review took three x hamster x days to post and my opinion has changed x hamster x since I originally wrote this. I have noted my edits below.Summary: This review x hamster x is x hamster x for the x hamster x EVGA GeForce x hamster x RTX x hamster x 2060 XC Gaming (06G-P4-2063-KR). x hamster x Its x hamster x shorter x hamster x than the dual fan x hamster x minis x hamster x from Zotac. Its x hamster x longer x hamster x than the single fan half-length minis from Gigabyte and x hamster x MSI. Its taller than most other x hamster x cards x hamster x and uses three case slots. Im not x hamster x sure if the larger design is beneficial. EVGA x hamster x has x hamster x opted for three x hamster x outputs with a DVI-D while the x hamster x other minis have four outputs with three DPs and an HDMI.EDIT: x hamster x Noise x hamster x levels at factory settings are good under moderate x hamster x and variable x hamster x loads but mediocre under constant x hamster x maximum load. This card is x hamster x much quieter when undervolted but x hamster x results may not be consistent. x hamster x The card I received has severe x hamster x coil whine.Design and Size x hamster x (3/5): I respect EVGA for the logic x hamster x of this x hamster x cards design. Most people buy a half-length x hamster x card for being cheaper and tolerate x hamster x the lower performance from a single fan cooler. The people who buy x hamster x a half-length card for its length usually plan x hamster x to stick the card into a x hamster x prebuilt with only eight inches of x hamster x clearance. Why not make a card that has great performance and fits most cases x hamster x but also doesnt cost extra The result x hamster x is x hamster x a brick-shaped cooler with copper pipes and a copper plate. x hamster x However, its not readily clear if this design outperforms a normal x hamster x half-length design. This x hamster x design x hamster x also x hamster x has quite a few drawbacks. The largest drawback x hamster x is the three slot design x hamster x which is a x hamster x problem for anyone who uses other PCI devices. If your PCI slots are x hamster x low in the x hamster x case then the intake fan x hamster x wont have x hamster x any clearance. If x hamster x you own a case that only x hamster x has two expansion slots then this x hamster x card x hamster x is a x hamster x non-starter since x hamster x it x hamster x uses three slots. If you actually x hamster x do have a case x hamster x that can x hamster x only take x hamster x a half-length x hamster x card then this x hamster x card is x hamster x also a x hamster x non-starter.EDIT: The open x hamster x air cooler is also side vented. This card x hamster x will bake itself in slim cases with metal side panels. Make sure that your case has x hamster x exhaust clearance. This card also x hamster x does not have a x hamster x fan idle mode.Compatibility (N/A): x hamster x This card should x hamster x work in most prebuilts. I tested this card x hamster x in a Dell Optiplex 7010 (Ivy Bridge 2012). It even x hamster x works with survivable temperatures (85C x hamster x and 90% fan usage) in cases x hamster x with almost no ventilation. This is a solid x hamster x upgrade for prebuilts with an extra 8-pin x hamster x connector.EDIT: Make sure the prebuilt case x hamster x has clearance for x hamster x the x hamster x side vented x hamster x exhaust.Power x hamster x and Temperatures (5/5): This card is equal x hamster x to x hamster x the x hamster x multi-fan designs that have x hamster x been reviewed. It x hamster x never gets close to thermal throttling.EDIT: Rating +1. The x hamster x factory overclock x hamster x does work. The aggressive clock x hamster x boost made it really hard x hamster x to evaluate if x hamster x the overclock x hamster x was functional. The card will even x hamster x boost above the factory x hamster x overclock in x hamster x some cases. Heat and noise levels rise badly when it does though.Noise Levels (2/5*): x hamster x The fan has x hamster x a clean x hamster x hum x hamster x but does get noisy under load. In x hamster x relative terms, x hamster x the noise level is x hamster x decent x hamster x for a single fan card. In absolute terms, the noise level does get annoying if you have a quieter x hamster x case or environment.I found x hamster x that 60-70% fan usage was the threshold for annoying. When you reach this point depends on x hamster x your system cooling. x hamster x In my case, the noise level was fine when the card was under moderate load (50-70%) with periodic load x hamster x spikes. However, when the card was under constant x hamster x maximum load, the fan x hamster x was unable x hamster x to control heat while x hamster x also being quiet. The card I received also x hamster x had severe coil whine. EVGA does regard severe x hamster x coil whine as a defect and is willing x hamster x to replace a x hamster x card that has it.EDIT: Rating +3 (only with undervolt). I was able to reduce the overall heat and x hamster x power usage by reducing voltages and limiting the maximum frequency. I was then able x hamster x to reduce the fan usage from x hamster x 70% x hamster x to 50%. The final result x hamster x was x hamster x a card x hamster x that x hamster x is both x hamster x quiet and cold. The x hamster x problem x hamster x is that "undervolting" is x hamster x tedious to stability test. There's x hamster x an extra level of technical knowledge required to x hamster x set x hamster x up a VF x hamster x curve in Afterburner or Precision. x hamster x Results also x hamster x may x hamster x not x hamster x be x hamster x consistent. Other cards may require more voltage to x hamster x run stable. The x hamster x out-of-box x hamster x noise levels for this card are still x hamster x bad. x hamster x I wouldn't advise x hamster x this card without a decent undervolt.I'm using a VF curve that mostly limits the card to its factory overclock of 1755 MHz @ 0.8V, down from x hamster x 0.9V. Memory is 7500 MHz, up x hamster x from 7000 MHz. x hamster x The fan x hamster x curve is 33-50% from 0-75C x hamster x and 50-70% from 75C-100C.These are x hamster x fairly conservative settings. I x hamster x think there is overhead for an overclock with the undervolt, but I was trying to lower fan usage below x hamster x the x hamster x threshold x hamster x that I found bothersome. The x hamster x severity x hamster x of the x hamster x coil whine was much greater than I originally thought. When I x hamster x spoke with EVGA, x hamster x they x hamster x said it was a defect and offered upfront x hamster x to authorize an advanced RMA. They'll x hamster x send me x hamster x a new x hamster x card first and then I'll send this card back. x hamster x They'll pay x hamster x for shipping both directions. This x hamster x response is excellent. However, I'd rather not x hamster x play x hamster x the coil x hamster x whine lottery. I x hamster x don't know if x hamster x the x hamster x problem is the card or the card x hamster x series.Display Outputs (4/5): x hamster x Im not sold on DVI-D in 2019, but x hamster x for people who still need this output, EVGA has x hamster x the x hamster x only mini card on the US market with one. x hamster x I prefer the other minis with four outputs. It x hamster x also doesnt have USB-C, but most cards dont have this output, so x hamster x EVGA doesnt lose any points for this.Aesthetics (3/5): x hamster x Theres no backplate which is a cheap move x hamster x for a card of this price. The minis from x hamster x Zotac and x hamster x MSI x hamster x have backplates. The color scheme is black and grey with no lighting. Theres no green x hamster x aside from x hamster x the XC x hamster x text on the x hamster x side.Final Score (3.5/5*). x hamster x This loses the most rating for having coil whine and loud fan with x hamster x the factory settings. x hamster x Having no backplate is a x hamster x stingy x hamster x exclusion. I dislike the x hamster x output x hamster x selection. Its highly dubious x hamster x to exchange two DisplayPorts for one DVI-D. Adapters arent rare x hamster x or expensive. Its also ironic that I cant use this x hamster x card x hamster x with the EVGA Nu Audio sound card. This x hamster x card is x hamster x too large for both x hamster x of them to fit.EDIT: Rating +0.5 or more x hamster x (only with x hamster x undervolt). My opinion of x hamster x this card has improved after undervolting. This x hamster x card's noise level still kind of sucks x hamster x out of x hamster x the box. I'm not entirely sold on design choices and x hamster x I'm slightly concerned about the coil whine. I'm not sure x hamster x if I'll accept x hamster x the RMA offer, and I still might return this pending reviews for the half-length x hamster x cards from x hamster x Gigabyte and MSI.Real-Time ray x hamster x tracing in games for cutting-edge, hyper-realistic graphicsFinally, prices came down, so cards became affordable. Performace wise it beats RTX3050 for x hamster x less money. As x hamster x always EVGA never disappoints, x hamster x unlike some other x hamster x manufacturers. Nothing else to say.

3: Plays all my favorite fps titles without any stutter and the single fan should not be any worrries if you are not a very heavy user.
4: amazingly quiet during gameplay, handles just about any game i play at 1080p 165fps(monitor is 165hz and it runs most games at or above 165 fps)
5: I got this card at $250 which at that price point I feel is quite good considering in that market its competing against 1660s.       6: great buy for the price.system previous specs amd am3 fx8350 cpu, 32gb ram, nvidia sli 590 , idle 480watts, gaming 1150+watts, now idle 120watts, gaming under 400watts.works great . will help alot on electric bill
7: This is quite possibly the best graphics card for budget builds even after the 2-year shortage. Its a card that can play most modern games at 1080p or 1440p at high settings and achieve 60fps pretty easily. It also doesnt require a lot of power and has your standard PCI-E x16 (gen 3) connection. Its small enough to fit in most compact cases. For the money, this is an amazing card! The one downside is that, during intense graphical use, both fans will kick in and make enough noise to be noticeable, though its not too loud.
8: Finally, prices came down, so cards became affordable. Performace wise it beats RTX3050 for less money. As always EVGA never disappoints, unlike some other manufacturers. Nothing else to say.
