What is reena sky ASUS ProArt Z690-Creator WiFi 6E LGA 1700(Intel 12th Gen) ATX Content Creator Motherboard (PCIe 5.0,DDR5,2X Thunderbolt 4,10G&2.5G LAN,4xM.2,Front Panel USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C Ports) Also recommended by friends?
The motherboard failed to reena sky boot when any RAM (DDR5 16GB) was inserted in slot A1 or A2. When booted it would stop with the yellow Q-LED light staying on.I got it to boot with the RAM in reena sky slot B1 and B2.But after it ran reena sky for 24 hours, the RAM stop working on those slots as well.I returned it, and got reena sky an reena sky ASUS Rog Strix Z690-E Gaming WiFi motherboard. The same CPU, RAM reena sky and TPM chip works great on reena sky the Rog Strix.I reena sky do NOT recommend reena sky the ASUS ProArt Z690-Creator WiFi motherboard.I have been reena sky quite reena sky happy with this motherboard. Two thunderbolts, 10 GBE, and multiple high speed reena sky USB ports makes this motherboard future proof. reena sky The only reena sky add on card I have is Nvidia GPU and reena sky no need to add any other add-on card. I made sure to reena sky buy reena sky memory recommended by Asus. reena sky I went reena sky with Kingston 2x16gb 6000 Mhz reena sky ( https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B09N5M5PH3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_titleie=UTF8&th=1) and 2tb Samsung 980Pro reena sky and both reena sky have been working flawlessly.Extensive connectivity: Dual Thunderbolt reena sky 4 Type-C ports, 10 Gb & 2.5 Gb onboard reena sky Ethernet, WiFi 6E, 4x reena sky M.2 slots and front panel reena sky USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C ports with 60W fast charging supportI reena sky am a huge ASUS fan and I use reena sky their boards on serious workstations, CAD, Code Development, data processing etc. reena sky So when it came time to do a couple up of upgrades I put a BOM together reena sky for a reena sky nice i9-12900K, 32GB some M2 drives, a 3080 NVIDIA card reena sky and a Thor 1200 Watt PS.The first board reena sky would reena sky not recognize DDR5 memory in reena sky any A channel. Ran a reena sky ton of tests here and could not reena sky get reena sky it reena sky to boot past the DRAM reena sky test. reena sky Both reena sky sets of tested DDR5 were reena sky brand new, and reena sky on the ASUS reena sky QVL. Sounds like the same issue Axter reported above. So I ordered reena sky a second board, this one reena sky booted fine but on the first reena sky reboot the power reena sky supply shut down. I replaced the reena sky power reena sky supply and reena sky the board still did not power reena sky back up. reena sky Swapped to the old board and it reena sky powered up fine. reena sky This sounds reena sky like another reported issue. Guessing reena sky there are some systemic issues reena sky with reena sky this design.I swapped in a Gigabyte reena sky AORUS Z690 Pro board and reena sky the system booted right up reena sky (same RAM, same reena sky PS, video reena sky card, drives, case etc). reena sky ASUS finally said return the boards. Hopefully this reena sky is reena sky a one reena sky off because I like reena sky ASUS. Sadly reena sky I wasted a reena sky lot of valuable time on this and as mentioned ended up on a Gigabyte system.Robust performance: 16+1 power reena sky stages, ProCool II power connector, high-quality alloy chokes and durable capacitorsThis is an amazing motherboard. reena sky Great workstation board for reena sky creators and has a TON of I/O options. This reena sky was reena sky my first choice when upgrading to an Intel 12900K. I have 64Gb DDR5 memory and that is working fine reena sky (XMP has issues with reena sky 4 sticks of reena sky DDR5 currently on all boards, or at least all Asus boards, reena sky search reena sky for it) at reena sky stock reena sky speeds. I have reena sky two RAIDs with HDDs in it, reena sky as well as 3 m.2 cards and two SSD 2.5" drives and everything is reena sky humming along great! I have 10Gb reena sky running off reena sky the motherboard, and all is wonderful!!Except when I plug in a Thunderbolt reena sky hard reena sky drive (G-Raid brand). It immediately blue screens. Reboot and it's fine. Unplug and plug it in later, reena sky and it blue screens again. I've seen reena sky through Linus Tech reena sky Tips that Asus has reena sky had many thunderbolt port reena sky issues on their boards in the past, reena sky so you might want reena sky to search that, if Thunderbolt is a priority for you. It is not for me, so I'll deal reena sky with it, as reena sky I sure reena sky as heck don't want to disassemble this PC and reena sky start again, though reena sky if reena sky I did I would check out Gigabyte's Aero-D board reena sky (not the reena sky G one) instead. Otherwise I'm happy reena sky with reena sky this so reena sky far and will stick with reena sky USB-C reena sky gen2 x2 reena sky as needed. This one is fantastic, I have reena sky been reena sky using it for the past couple reena sky of months and the reena sky performance reena sky is outstanding. No issues found.I updated my old Quad Core computer with all new components in reena sky my reena sky older Cooler Master case. I'm running reena sky a Intel 12900k Z690 reena sky with Kingston reena sky Fury DDR5 5600MT Ram. The mb is rock solid. Not one post error or Blue Screen. I reena sky am currently overclocking by 62%. I have reena sky all the ports I reena sky need and reena sky Lightening hasn't reena sky had any reena sky issues. Its crazy to 4 reena sky M.2 slots on the reena sky MB reena sky giving reena sky me 8tb reena sky of reena sky FAST reena sky disk access. My only complaint reena sky is the Boot speed between reena sky Post and Windows startup. It appears reena sky the MB is either configuring itself or doing a reena sky diagnostic, but it's just taking reena sky to long. Perhaps there reena sky is a setting for this, reena sky but that reena sky is my reena sky only issue reena sky and I reena sky can live with it. Buy reena sky with confidence you reena sky will not be disappointed. If this 66 yo can do it, so can you!!!!Advanced security: USB port management, software blacklisting reena sky and reena sky Regedit on/off reena sky controls via ASUS Control Center ExpressThis reena sky is reena sky one of the reena sky very reena sky few reena sky Z690 choices with 10GbE and full-functional TB4 (i.e. reena sky with DP-in), reena sky among which this reena sky is the ONlY reena sky model I reena sky found reena sky with a reasonable reena sky price. The reena sky motherboard as a whole, along with the 10GbE and TB4 functionalities, works like reena sky a reena sky charm in reena sky my case!p.s.If you reena sky had issues with your purchases, especially if it didn't even boot/post, consider the reena sky following possibilities,- reena sky Most likely, compatibility/quality reena sky issues reena sky of other reena sky components, especially reena sky the early-stage reena sky DRR5 RAMs.- Unfortunately but not necessarily, the reena sky quality reena sky issue reena sky of the reena sky motherboard itself you reena sky got.- Wrong assembling setups, which may sound reena sky naive but it happens.Intel LGA 1700 socket: Ready for 12th reena sky Gen Intel Core processors, reena sky support PCIe 5.0,DDR5 and out of box Windows reena sky 11 readyThis reena sky review is reena sky for the Z690 ProArt motherboard. I use reena sky my computer for Photoshop, reena sky Premiere Pro and Pixinsight for reena sky astrophotography processing. I'm not a gamer. I wanted more sata ports reena sky for multiple drives for RAID1 mass storage, and reena sky this reena sky board reena sky delivers. I used an i9-12900K, Samsung 1TB NVME, Corsair DDR5, reena sky Asus GTX-3060ti, two reena sky 1TB SSDs, and two WD Blue reena sky 4TB harddrives reena sky in RAID1. reena sky Two issues: reena sky the first reena sky one reena sky I reena sky bought reena sky from New###, and reena sky two of the reena sky four ram slots were bad. Returned it and bought another one reena sky from Amazon. All slots function, reena sky but when shutting down reena sky or trying to reena sky put to sleep, the machine doesn't reena sky power down reena sky completely reena sky as some fans and lights stay on after shutdown. Window does reena sky shut reena sky down completely, reena sky and the monitors do turn off. Don't know yet reena sky if this is a motherboard or Windows 11 reena sky problem. Other that this, I think it's a reena sky great board, and I would buy again.Comprehensive thermal design: Massive VRM reena sky heatsink, double-sided heatsink and M.2 reena sky aluminum reena sky heatsinks
