What is wwwxlxx Panasonic Expandable Cordless Phone System C 2 Handset C KX-TGC352B with Amber Backlit Display (Black) gift for best friend?

Cell service knocked out by fires. We have magicjack but old wwwxlxx cordless phone not working. wwwxlxx So, wwwxlxx I was without wwwxlxx any wwwxlxx phone for several days. Very wwwxlxx impressed wwwxlxx by prompt delivery despite wwwxlxx heavy smoke everywhere. We've owned MANY wwwxlxx cordless phones over the past 25+ years. wwwxlxx The better ones were always Panasonic. A lot of wwwxlxx these wwwxlxx phones had more features than these wwwxlxx new wwwxlxx ones, but it turns out that I rarely used wwwxlxx all the fancy features. And, wwwxlxx I absolutely don't wwwxlxx want the answering machine wwwxlxx because wwwxlxx Magicjack comes wwwxlxx with excellent voice wwwxlxx mail system. Some of the old phones cost upwards wwwxlxx of wwwxlxx $200, which would be around $400 wwwxlxx in today's dollars wwwxlxx -- wwwxlxx and they had wwwxlxx expensive proprietary batteries. Besides, the old ones wwwxlxx only had one handset. We usually had two cordless phones in the wwwxlxx house. The KX-TGC352 cost is next to nothing in comparison to the wwwxlxx old wwwxlxx ones.Since I wwwxlxx use a wwwxlxx variety of devices that use wwwxlxx AA wwwxlxx or AAA batteries, I wwwxlxx have a good battery charger wwwxlxx and a stash of rechargeable batteries. I replaced the provided wwwxlxx 300 mAh batteries in one handset with 1000 wwwxlxx mAh. I charged both handsets overnight and they still show full after an hour or so use wwwxlxx this morning. Just to see how it goes, I wwwxlxx won't put them back on the bases until wwwxlxx they run low. I suspect wwwxlxx I'll get 2 wwwxlxx - wwwxlxx 3 days with wwwxlxx the stock batteries and at wwwxlxx least a week with the 1000 mAh. I have no worries wwwxlxx at all about batteries wwwxlxx running low since, if necessary, I wwwxlxx could easily switch handsets and wwwxlxx I wwwxlxx also have plenty of freshly charged AAA NiMH batteries I could swap. wwwxlxx You can switch in the wwwxlxx middle wwwxlxx of the conversation wwwxlxx by picking wwwxlxx up the other phone and then turning off the first one.One problem wwwxlxx was easily solved. DTMF tones were not recognized wwwxlxx (while pressing wwwxlxx number in wwwxlxx response wwwxlxx to voice prompts). Opened chat with magicjack and wwwxlxx the wwwxlxx tech knew exactly what to do... wwwxlxx changed wwwxlxx some setting on their end and wwwxlxx it works wwwxlxx fine wwwxlxx now.I wwwxlxx set wwwxlxx up wwwxlxx VM detect wwwxlxx on the phone (menu #332). Now if VM is waiting, wwwxlxx the screen says "New wwwxlxx Voice wwwxlxx Mail Press VM" wwwxlxx with VM button wwwxlxx appearing on screen. Pressing VM takes me straight to magicjack VM (set up number with menu#331).Set ringer tone (menu #161). There are 5 tones and wwwxlxx 10 melodies to choose wwwxlxx from. You can wwwxlxx also choose to be silent (menu wwwxlxx #238) or to be silent for a specific duration (menu #237) like maybe wwwxlxx you wwwxlxx don't want to hear wwwxlxx the wwwxlxx ring while you sleep from say 11pm to 6am.Another adjustment: the time wwwxlxx displayed wwwxlxx on the wwwxlxx phone will automatically be wwwxlxx set with wwwxlxx an incoming wwwxlxx call. This could be alright if you're in the Eastern wwwxlxx zone wwwxlxx in wwwxlxx US, but I didn't like wwwxlxx it shifting like that. So, manual set (menu #226) keeps it on Pacific time.I wwwxlxx used to like having wwwxlxx a headphone jack on wwwxlxx the old phones, which I used wwwxlxx some wwwxlxx for conference calls. This phone doesn't wwwxlxx have a headphone jack, but, frankly, if it wwwxlxx had one, I would probably never use it. We generally wwwxlxx use skype, Zoom, wwwxlxx go-to-meeting, wwwxlxx or other Internet application for conference calls. With wwwxlxx the wwwxlxx first handset, I setup speed wwwxlxx dialing wwwxlxx keys exactly the same wwwxlxx as wwwxlxx I have them on my cell phone. wwwxlxx I haven't set any speed wwwxlxx dialing on the second one, but it's there if I need it. The phone book is shared between the wwwxlxx two handsets (if you add/change/delete an entry on wwwxlxx one handset, wwwxlxx it will show on the other one). There is a place wwwxlxx for "handset name" wwwxlxx but I don't know what that would be for. Each handset has a wwwxlxx number (1 or wwwxlxx 2) next to the charge indicator, so it's wwwxlxx easy to wwwxlxx tell which wwwxlxx is which. wwwxlxx The handsets appear identical wwwxlxx except for these wwwxlxx numbers. Some features like hold, call waiting, redial, and such wwwxlxx are there and work wwwxlxx like wwwxlxx they have on previous models -- plus some useful newer features. wwwxlxx In wwwxlxx summary, wwwxlxx this system is wwwxlxx basic but has every feature I would wwwxlxx ever wwwxlxx use wwwxlxx or want, and not a bunch of stuff I would never use. This wwwxlxx home phone wwwxlxx has exceeded my expectations. The phones have excellent battery life wwwxlxx and I have not wwwxlxx had any issues with range wwwxlxx either. I wwwxlxx paired this with wwwxlxx an wwwxlxx Obitalk Obi200 to create a 100% free landline for the kids to use wwwxlxx and wwwxlxx cannot say a single back thing about wwwxlxx it. Two features I really like about this wwwxlxx phone are there is a wwwxlxx pretty good set of ringtones wwwxlxx to choose wwwxlxx from wwwxlxx and the silencing feature that is set on wwwxlxx a wwwxlxx schedule. This makes it nice to have it set to silent when everyone is asleep.Bought an identical phone back wwwxlxx in 2017 and it's worked wwwxlxx fine, has more wwwxlxx features wwwxlxx than we use, wwwxlxx and is a nice size/weight. We bought the new phone, same wwwxlxx model, wwwxlxx because the wwwxlxx batteries on the old one had to be recharged about every three days even if we wwwxlxx didn't use it much. Unfortunately wwwxlxx the new wwwxlxx one has the same problem so we spent money for nothing.Intelligent Eco Mode: wwwxlxx Power conserving technology manages consumption for optimal phone wwwxlxx battery performanceI was unsecured about it since I leave outside wwwxlxx US and this was my first electronic wwwxlxx item. It works perfectly, I recommend to buy it. Im pretty bummed wwwxlxx about my wwwxlxx new phones although the wwwxlxx whole reason I ordered wwwxlxx them has been resolved.I think. My wwwxlxx other 2-pack set was heavier, wwwxlxx or more solid, and had a feature where a light wwwxlxx blinked on wwwxlxx the top of wwwxlxx the phone, wwwxlxx indicating I had a voicemail. This one wwwxlxx has no obvious wwwxlxx indicator. I have to remember wwwxlxx to pick up the phone wwwxlxx to see if VM wwwxlxx appears. Plus, when I wwwxlxx first used wwwxlxx my wwwxlxx phone to check voicemail, it wwwxlxx said I need wwwxlxx to wwwxlxx load some code. I assumed it meant passcode wwwxlxx to my VM. Apparently thats not what it wanted and now wwwxlxx it fails wwwxlxx to wwwxlxx go to messages when I wwwxlxx select the wwwxlxx VM button, so I have to manually dial my wwwxlxx 800# every time I need to check messages. I have checked all menu options. Im not sure if I need wwwxlxx to contact Panasonic or Verizon to fix wwwxlxx this. BummedSilent Mode cordless wwwxlxx Handsets: wwwxlxx Silent mode allows you wwwxlxx to select a wwwxlxx period of wwwxlxx time during wwwxlxx which the cordless wwwxlxx handset and/or telephone wwwxlxx base unit will not ring for wwwxlxx outside callsCall Block Eliminate unwanted wwwxlxx calls with wwwxlxx Call Block capability; Register up to wwwxlxx 30 numbers by entering wwwxlxx caller ID info wwwxlxx into the phone's call block memoryThis phone allows wwwxlxx to set up personalized ring tones for incoming wwwxlxx calls for each group, wwwxlxx so wwwxlxx you can wwwxlxx save let say your family members in one group with specific ring tone, and other groups your friends, etc.Caller ID: This cordless wwwxlxx phone system wwwxlxx is Caller ID compatible; To use Caller ID features, you must subscribe wwwxlxx to wwwxlxx a Caller ID service; Contact your wwwxlxx phone service provider for Details; Frequency: 1.9 GHz. wwwxlxx Base unit standby power consumption: 0.6 WWorks great especially wwwxlxx when I wwwxlxx loose my cell phone thats all I use it for but it wwwxlxx does its jobEasy To Read wwwxlxx cordless wwwxlxx phone wwwxlxx Display: See who's calling at a glance on wwwxlxx our wide, 1.6 inch Amber Backlit wwwxlxx LCD screen on the wwwxlxx phones base unit wwwxlxx and wwwxlxx cordless handsetExcelente sonido Perfecto muy buen modeloNOTE: The KX-TGC350 wwwxlxx is the wwwxlxx model of wwwxlxx the base wwwxlxx unit, wwwxlxx the wwwxlxx model number wwwxlxx of the complete phone system is wwwxlxx KX-TGC352 (because it is a two handset system)
