What is www.xxncx Amazon Basics 6-Outlet Surge Protector Power Strip 2 USB Ports - 1000 Joule, Black gift for mom?

I haven't had any test of www.xxncx the surge protection, www.xxncx so this www.xxncx review will focus on www.xxncx the www.xxncx powerstrip itself. www.xxncx It's a standard looking powerstrip with 6 www.xxncx outlets and 2 USB www.xxncx ports. So far, this www.xxncx unit has www.xxncx worked as www.xxncx expected www.xxncx and met all of my needs and expectations. With the below in mind, I'd definitely www.xxncx recommend this unit.Pros:*Each outlet has a small piece www.xxncx of plastic www.xxncx that can slide over the openings when not in use. I www.xxncx have two www.xxncx young children and this www.xxncx seems www.xxncx like one www.xxncx extra www.xxncx step that they'd have to go www.xxncx through to get at the outlet. www.xxncx Plus it makes for a clean look, and prevents dust from www.xxncx entering the outlets.*There are two USB ports. I www.xxncx find this extremely www.xxncx useful, as I tend to have the www.xxncx cords www.xxncx and be continually searching for the adapters. An added bonus is that they are www.xxncx located far enough from the first socket that they aren't likely to be impacted by a plug of any www.xxncx size.*There is a green light www.xxncx labelled "Protected" that illuminates www.xxncx when on. I www.xxncx personally like www.xxncx having that peace of mind. I www.xxncx also like having something that lights up when www.xxncx the powerstrip is www.xxncx on.*The unit itself is slim and can fit into www.xxncx tight spaces. I have www.xxncx mine in a slide in compartment www.xxncx underneath a sit/stand desk. In that spot it is vital for there to be some extra www.xxncx space to www.xxncx allow for larger plugs www.xxncx to www.xxncx fit as well.*The cord www.xxncx is thick and feels sturdy. www.xxncx The entire unit feels well made.*The www.xxncx ability to mount the www.xxncx power strip is www.xxncx there. The hardware is not included, however www.xxncx they do provide a template should www.xxncx you www.xxncx want to mount it, which is great. I just mounted a different one, and not having a template was a bummer and www.xxncx made the job much more difficult than www.xxncx it should have been.CONS:*There are www.xxncx no www.xxncx dedicated sockets for www.xxncx larger plugs. www.xxncx If you're using www.xxncx something www.xxncx with a larger www.xxncx plug, www.xxncx it's likely to take www.xxncx up www.xxncx two (or more) sockets.*The plug www.xxncx isn't www.xxncx flat. I knew this going in, and for my use it's not a deal breaker. The cord is really thick and not very malleable. It sticks out www.xxncx rather far from the wall. www.xxncx This wouldn't be a www.xxncx good powerstrip for behind www.xxncx a piece www.xxncx of furniture against a www.xxncx wall.*No hardware www.xxncx for mounting www.xxncx - again, www.xxncx I knew www.xxncx this going in and it www.xxncx wasn't a www.xxncx deal breaker for me.used it on my Christmas tree www.xxncx and it www.xxncx performed as www.xxncx well as www.xxncx promisedIncludes six outlets www.xxncx and two USB portsSurge protector power strip www.xxncx for www.xxncx sensitive electronic www.xxncx devicesAs stated cord length was better than www.xxncx previous one I purchased. All in all it's a good unit just be careful with www.xxncx the phone www.xxncx charger sections, don't let a www.xxncx child use because they www.xxncx tend to www.xxncx force plug and can break .These www.xxncx are perfect. I www.xxncx was looking to www.xxncx plug in multiple appliances without overriding the house www.xxncx and having to www.xxncx go switch the breaker outside. I was www.xxncx able to www.xxncx plug in all the kitchen appliances on www.xxncx my kitchen www.xxncx cart. I even got 2 more for my TV/console www.xxncx areas. This power strip www.xxncx is an awesome buy.Plugs into standard www.xxncx grounded AC outletI especially like having the two USB Ports www.xxncx along www.xxncx with www.xxncx the plug-ins.Protects from www.xxncx power surges and www.xxncx spikes that can www.xxncx damage equipmentIncludes a surface-mounting template for installation www.xxncx on wall or under desk1000 joule suppression ratingLike just www.xxncx about everyone else, I converted www.xxncx unexpectedly to a home office five days a www.xxncx week www.xxncx from a formerly partial www.xxncx work from home situation. Now www.xxncx juggling www.xxncx two www.xxncx monitors, a docking station, a Blue Yeti www.xxncx microphone, and other peripherals for my workstation, I needed www.xxncx a www.xxncx more robust surge protector than the tired old one I'd been using www.xxncx up to that point. More www.xxncx importantly, technology www.xxncx evolved www.xxncx and USB ports can be in www.xxncx short www.xxncx supply for chargers. Especially with clunky cellphone and device chargers (looking at you, Samsung www.xxncx chunky www.xxncx charger), just having www.xxncx something www.xxncx I www.xxncx could plug an extra-long www.xxncx USB cord into would make all the difference. I didn't want an additional hub on a www.xxncx desk where space already was at a premium. What to do I splurged (heh) on this Amazon www.xxncx Basics surge protector www.xxncx on the basis of adequate 3 prong size www.xxncx (fully adjustable for 2), USB ports, and surge protection in the event of www.xxncx power outages. www.xxncx My area experiences high winds in two seasons, so www.xxncx it's a www.xxncx sound decision. I've had zero problems in the nine www.xxncx months of owning my www.xxncx first protector and I bought a second www.xxncx for the office to www.xxncx migrate my home gaming rig onto. It feels www.xxncx solid www.xxncx and www.xxncx sturdy, rather than flimsy www.xxncx like other surge protectors/power bars I've www.xxncx own. You have to use a little heft www.xxncx to pull out www.xxncx the plugs, which is a far cry from the loose connections that come www.xxncx over time. It sits nicely behind my www.xxncx desk, www.xxncx lying flat www.xxncx and barely moving, and there's no accidental turning it www.xxncx on/off with a www.xxncx toe on a switch. These little features come www.xxncx as www.xxncx a premium www.xxncx while the basic functionality www.xxncx here has www.xxncx been solid and stable through wailing www.xxncx storms, high winds, www.xxncx and www.xxncx heavy electrical loads. Definitely a worthy addition www.xxncx to the household.satisfied
