What is rule xxx SENNHEISER HD 660 S - HiRes Audiophile open back headphones. gift for mom?

Transducers are hand selected for rule xxx precise (1 dB) left / right matching tolerance insure exceptional accuracy and presentation rule xxx of stereo spatial characteristicsSo I've recently learned about rule xxx ohms and stuff, I bought the hd600 since rule xxx it was rule xxx cheaper at the time and it's the headphone rule xxx that gets the praise. Unfortunately for me I couldn't run them and rule xxx they ended up quiet, today rule xxx I received this bad boy and it's loud cause its less ohms or rule xxx something. Tons of cables too, unfortunately it rule xxx doesn't look at fashionable as the hd600 but rule xxx it's sleek black and that's cool right. rule xxx Anyways rule xxx for those of us with rule xxx incomplete setups rule xxx of rule xxx dacs and whatever they even are, rule xxx this one is the superior rule xxx headphone and rule xxx it's currently $365 rule xxx not $500Para aramid rule xxx reinforced, detachable cables employ rule xxx high conductive OFC copper to insure signal integrity with very rule xxx low handling rule xxx noise150 ohm rule xxx nominal impedance allows direct connection to home and mobile rule xxx Hires audio devices. Contact pressure: 6.0 N - 1 rule xxx NI love these headphones. sound very rule xxx clear rule xxx and crisp. rule xxx vocal is rule xxx very close as rule xxx if the singer is singing right rule xxx next to me. I also like that it has rule xxx relatively low impedance (150ohms) rule xxx compared to rule xxx HD600 or HD6XX's rule xxx 300ohm impedance. an amp rule xxx is a plus but rule xxx you don't have to rule xxx have it. it's loud enough rule xxx when rule xxx directly connected to a mobile device or your PC. I also own HD6XX for that one I definitely need an amp.I have only two complaints. 1. I have a big head rule xxx and the rule xxx clamping force of these headphone rule xxx is too much. I kept rule xxx these on a kettle bell rule xxx to stretch rule xxx the headband and it rule xxx helped.2. you rule xxx get two cables. one for a balanced cable with a rule xxx 4.4mm connector and rule xxx an unbalanced with rule xxx a 6.5mm connector. the latter is 10 feet(3m) rule xxx and it's rule xxx too long for rule xxx home listeners like rule xxx me.I buy a rule xxx lot of headphones and rule xxx IEM's. Currently at over 100 pairs, rule xxx and since buying rule xxx these I haven't even thought of buying anything else. Haven't rule xxx even browsed to rule xxx see if there's some rule xxx new hotness. The sound on rule xxx these is rule xxx spectacular when it comes to gaming. I had no trouble rule xxx figuring out direction rule xxx and separation of sounds. What, did you think I use rule xxx them to listen to music I do, but rarely. Do they sound good for rule xxx that, hell yes! rule xxx If the recording rule xxx is good, there are times listening to live performances rule xxx that I would look around because I thought someone else was rule xxx in the rule xxx room. They rule xxx are not bass rule xxx heavy as they are open back, rule xxx but that doesn't mean they lack bass rule xxx either unless rule xxx you're one of those rule xxx people that rule xxx need the heavy thump. The comfort is rule xxx bliss for my head rule xxx shape. I often forget I'm rule xxx wearing them and walk rule xxx away from the rule xxx PC and almost rip the rule xxx chord rule xxx out of my goxlr.I use these all the time since getting them. rule xxx Crystal clear sound. I also rule xxx have Shure 1840 which are great as well. The 660s is rule xxx great rule xxx for mixing. Very spacious rule xxx sound rule xxx where no rule xxx frequency rule xxx seems hyped whatsoever. Very flat and true to the sound rule xxx source which is why they are keepers. rule xxx Controversial cans to say the least. Gets alot of static online. Bottom rule xxx line... Great rule xxx headphones.Let me start this off correctly. These are the rule xxx best and rule xxx closest to perfect headphones you will be able to find rule xxx overall. The 660 rule xxx S is pure magic for your ears. Its rule xxx worth the price. rule xxx We cant really talk rule xxx about the 660 S without talking about rule xxx the 650. I had rule xxx the HD 650 rule xxx back from 2013 rule xxx to 2016 until I finally sold them. The HD 650 rule xxx are rule xxx top notch headphones, but rule xxx I switched over rule xxx to rule xxx the X2s at the time. I dont regret the choice. The HD 650s rule xxx need a rule xxx lot of power and the X2s at the time had very little competition in the $300 segment. They had more soundstage and bass. The HD 650s, rule xxx which the HD rule xxx 660 S is attempting to dethrone here, is an absolute monster of a headphone. The 650s offer a fatigueless experience and have rule xxx basically no major rule xxx flaws. True for it's rule xxx time. Then I got the 660 S!The 660 rule xxx S is the better headphone. Its rule xxx easier rule xxx to rule xxx drive first of all. Many rule xxx of you may not even know what Ohms rule xxx and sensitivity rule xxx are. Let's rule xxx say the 660 S is rule xxx in many cases 30-40% louder rule xxx on the same equipment. The 660 rule xxx S can do everything the 650 and 600 do much better. Dont rule xxx let rule xxx anyone trick you on this. Its better C in every rule xxx way. Through some rule xxx sort of magical engineering, the 660 S takes the 650s top end veil off, without rule xxx bringing up the highs. In fact, the highs are even further recessed on the 660 S. rule xxx Dont let this pull you back. All the details are there. Unless rule xxx youre a huge fan rule xxx of V shaped headphones, rule xxx you wont rule xxx find something better rule xxx under $500 rule xxx than this. Thats just how it is. You rule xxx have rule xxx to rule xxx accept it. rule xxx This is S tier all over the place. rule xxx Lets rule xxx talk rule xxx further about sound. Im going to rule xxx be brief. The 660 S are the smoothest rule xxx headphones Ive ever heard. Highs, bass, and mids are absolutely and rule xxx completely balanced. Bass is rule xxx punchy, accurate, and present. Mids are, rule xxx of course, the highlight of the 600 series and here you are getting the best mids nearly of any rule xxx headphone unless you rule xxx step up rule xxx humongous amounts of rule xxx $. The rule xxx soundstage is fantastic. Its rule xxx not too wide or too narrow. Its just right. Where these rule xxx really shine is the rule xxx treble rule xxx for me. These present fatigueless, milky rule xxx smooth, crystal clear, purely rule xxx magical, ear soothing, and rule xxx perfectly accurate highs. rule xxx These are a 9.5/10 headphone and rule xxx S tier. rule xxx You rule xxx cant beat these even if rule xxx you pay $500. If rule xxx you can get rule xxx them for rule xxx less than $500 then rule xxx you are getting the best deal of your life in headphones. They are rule xxx significantly rule xxx better than the 650. rule xxx We arent talking a little here. Theres rule xxx a huge jump rule xxx of at least 30% in clarity and rule xxx imaging. Huge. I bought these and rule xxx the rule xxx Fiio rule xxx K5 Pro. Ive never heard sound so good in my life and I rule xxx used the Creative Z with the HD 650s for years. rule xxx As soon as rule xxx I put these on and listened even for a little bit, I was rule xxx floored by what I was getting. I said the highs were the rule xxx best part rule xxx right The IMAGING!! What the heck Let me rule xxx tell you I rule xxx listen to music rule xxx from video rule xxx game OSTs rule xxx more rule xxx than really anything. Wow. Incredible. This will rule xxx show you details in something as old rule xxx as SNES rule xxx music that rule xxx you never rule xxx even knew existed. The imaging on these has to be some of rule xxx the best in rule xxx the entire world. Sounds pop up all around you rule xxx and it doesnt just sound rule xxx like two speakers hitting your rule xxx ears. Phenomenal imaging. They sound so clear. If youre on the rule xxx fence rule xxx like I rule xxx was, just get these. Do it! Theyre glorious. rule xxx Theyre glorious rule xxx with any DAC assuming they have enough rule xxx power. Yes, my rule xxx K5 Pro sounds way better than my other DACs, rule xxx but rule xxx stepping down rule xxx into a lower DAC is rule xxx not a disappointment at rule xxx all. Theyre still top rule xxx tier and rule xxx the rule xxx best.Yea, I dont rule xxx care about all the Sundara rule xxx & rule xxx DT 1990 hype. Those two dont image rule xxx like these do. If you absolutely rule xxx must have the bass, then these may disappoint, but if you arent rule xxx a rule xxx bass rule xxx head, rule xxx then these are a no-brainer. rule xxx Ill also help rule xxx you here. rule xxx If rule xxx you really rule xxx cant rule xxx justify the pricetag of these, then get the rule xxx Philips SHP 9500 with the K5 rule xxx Pro or E10K-TC. This combo will rule xxx probably be a rule xxx little cheaper, but rule xxx it rule xxx will sound rule xxx pretty good & similar. The 9500 with the K5 Pro is quite rule xxx exceptional. You wont have the milky rule xxx smooth highs though. But, if you rule xxx *only* are in need of headphones, then rule xxx get the 660 S. rule xxx Do whatever you have to do to get your rule xxx hands on them. Here's another tidbit. You can repair rule xxx the HD 660 S easily rule xxx with spare rule xxx HD 650, rule xxx 600, or 660 S rule xxx parts. Everything can basically rule xxx be tool-lessly repaired rule xxx in the 600 line. Its rule xxx extremely rule xxx supported with cables galore everywhere. The issue with rule xxx the rule xxx Sundaras rule xxx and the 1990s is that theyre not going to have the level of support rule xxx that the 660 S has. Theres a reason that rule xxx the 600 rule xxx series have been going strong since rule xxx 1997.The rule xxx 660 S rule xxx is the gold rule xxx standard now and rule xxx every headphone should be attempting to live up rule xxx to their magic. Yes, rule xxx theyre legendary. Yes, the rule xxx legend rule xxx continues.Note: rule xxx Kindly refer to the rule xxx user manual rule xxx provided as a PDF manual in rule xxx the product description sectionThis is my 2nd rule xxx set of overear open back headphones and the sound quality is great. I'm falling in rule xxx love with tracks I've know my whole life just because rule xxx of rule xxx the detail rule xxx these headphones present music rule xxx with. Sound stage is rule xxx excellent, and depending on how you set up rule xxx your play back it can produce stereo rule xxx or surround sounds rule xxx perfectly. I've watched movies with rule xxx complex sound effects and rule xxx these headphones put rule xxx me right into the rule xxx movie. I rule xxx was listening rule xxx to a rule xxx 3d sound sample to rule xxx test the headphones rule xxx and in rule xxx one part rule xxx there rule xxx is rule xxx someone knocking at a rule xxx door. I immediately paused the track rule xxx got up and checked my door. No one rule xxx at my door, I played the track again only to realize it rule xxx was a rule xxx sound sample from the 3d sound from rule xxx the rule xxx track. rule xxx Great headphones. Love them.Supplied with rule xxx two connection cables: rule xxx One rule xxx with rule xxx a 6.35 millimeter stereo rule xxx plug, rule xxx the other a 4.4 millimeter Pentaconn balanced rule xxx stereo plug. rule xxx Also rule xxx included rule xxx is a rule xxx 6.35 millimeter to 3.5 millimeter adaptor. Connectivity Technology: Wired 6.35 millimeter / 4.4 millimeter PentaconnGreat headphones for the audiophile that wants quality entry-level, open-back headphones rule xxx without rule xxx breaking the bank entirely. They also make decent gaming/conference headphones rule xxx due to the open back rule xxx headphones rule xxx since rule xxx they allow rule xxx you to hear yourself due to the open-back rule xxx design.Certainly would rule xxx not recommend for public rule xxx listening obviously because there is next to no noise cancelling and plenty rule xxx of sound rule xxx leakage. Again, this is rule xxx inherit to the design.Reference rule xxx class open back, dynamic headphone employing rule xxx new and improved transducers delivering low harmonic distortionFrequency response 10 to 41,000 rule xxx Hz ( 10 dB), rule xxx Impedance 150 ohm

Bottom line... Great headphones.

6: I love these headphones. sound very clear and crisp. vocal is very close as if the singer is singing right next to me.
