What is prno uk Alienware 27 Gaming Monitor - AW2721D - 240Hz, 27 Inch QHD (Quad High Definition), Fast IPS Monitor with VESA Display HDR 600 NVIDIA G-SYNC Ultimate Certification; white XW3CK temperamental boy?

Viewing prno uk Angle (CRR10, prno uk H/V) is 178/ 17827-inch QHD resolution. Color Support : 1.07 prno uk Billion.A prno uk lightning-fast 240Hz refresh rateNVIDIA G-SYNC ULTIMATE certifiedFast IPS prno uk Nano prno uk Color technologyOptimized eye comfort prno uk with a prno uk flicker-free prno uk screen and ComfortView featureVESA DisplayHDR 6004-sided prno uk InfinityEdge displayGreat prno uk monitor, I got this one prno uk after returning a Samsung Odyssey prno uk G7 I prno uk previously purchased in exchange for the alienware AW2721D as it prno uk has prno uk a Gsync Module installed. It has several Refresh Rates Avaliable and with the prno uk higher end Gsync prno uk Ultimate prno uk Module it can prno uk technically support any framerate between 30-240FPs if you use prno uk a prno uk Framerate Limiter like RivaTuner. The HDR isn't all prno uk that great though and prno uk seems to prno uk just be prno uk a prno uk dynamic backlight gimmick, but I didn't buy it for prno uk HDR and most competitive gamers prno uk wouldnt care for it prno uk either. It prno uk also supports full 12 bit color all the way up prno uk to 144HZ, but make prno uk sure you install it's prno uk driver and set up Dell's prno uk screen calibration profile in windows to fully experience the full color support.Like others in the prno uk reviews prno uk I do notice some prno uk Backlight bleed in the prno uk bottom left and right corners but prno uk as of prno uk 2 weeks of using it prno uk and it going prno uk through many prno uk tempature cycles the backlight prno uk bleed seems prno uk to prno uk be going away like its supposed to as the prno uk pannel adhesive in those corners starts to prno uk relax tension on it, but as of today its only noticeable when the prno uk screen is displaying darker scenes like loading screens and boot.It is prno uk a sad day when prno uk you have to notch one star off a review of one of the best prno uk gaming monitors I've ever owned because it forces you to install something prno uk that has nothing to do with prno uk image prno uk quality. What could have prno uk been prno uk a prno uk perfect, 5 star prno uk review turned into just a good prno uk one just because of the monstrosity the infamous ACC -Alienware Control Center- isOn the prno uk good side, or prno uk better said on the prno uk wonderful side, the prno uk image on this monitor is really impressive, everything looks sharp, prno uk in beautiful prno uk real colors. Games look way better that the way prno uk they looked prno uk on my prno uk old Dell monitor, which was not prno uk HDR even if prno uk it was G-SYNC. Response prno uk time is prno uk also impressive, when paired with prno uk my Nvidia RTX 3080 it prno uk is just a complete prno uk different experience, for the prno uk better. I'm connected via DP, not sure how it will look via HDMI but I wouldn't expect something differentCraftsmanship is prno uk also incredible, well built, solid good prno uk quality with a very 2001 Space prno uk Odyssey futuristic look. Dell really put an prno uk effort into prno uk this monitor, and prno uk it shows. Couldn't prno uk be happier with image and quality, prno uk and even if the price prno uk is a bit high, prno uk I think it's more than justified for the superior product you getAssembly prno uk and installation is a walk in prno uk the park. It took prno uk me prno uk less than 15 prno uk minutes to take it prno uk out of the box, attach it to the base and connect it to prno uk my Falcon prno uk NW PC. The back joystick menu feature for the prno uk options takes a bit of an effort to manage but after prno uk a few tries it becomes very intuitive and easy to use. I turned off all the lights so prno uk I cannot prno uk comment on the way they prno uk can be prno uk customized, but for the brief time they prno uk were on they looked great. Sadly, this prno uk is where things took prno uk a turn prno uk for prno uk the worstAfter playing for a few hours prno uk and testing the image prno uk on different settings and games, I turned prno uk off my PC for prno uk the prno uk day. Next prno uk day, after starting, the prno uk Audio for my PC was gone. Restarted the PC again prno uk and nothing. Tried prno uk all prno uk sort prno uk of stuff, prno uk nothing. A quick check prno uk to the prno uk W11 reliability monitor showed prno uk the prno uk ACC prno uk kept prno uk crashing at restarting, so I uninstalled the ACC and nothing. Really painful. After a few prno uk hours trying everything, I prno uk decided prno uk to prno uk disconnect prno uk all the audio prno uk sources form the PC, remove prno uk the Realtek and W11 audio drivers and basically reinstall everything audio related. After that it worked, prno uk but prno uk it is clear prno uk the ACC prno uk was to blame and messed up with the audio driversThe ACC should be optional, prno uk for those wanting prno uk to prno uk control the prno uk monitor lights prno uk or to manage prno uk their games under an Alienware environment, not prno uk forced into every PC as soon prno uk as you connect prno uk the prno uk monitor prno uk to a prno uk USB port, prno uk no asking for permission, no option prno uk to decline prno uk installation. I have prno uk owned several Dell monitors prno uk in the past prno uk and this have prno uk never prno uk happened before. Maybe is prno uk an Alienware thing but not a good oneI've gone prno uk through a couple of monitors now, and the one thing prno uk I cannot stand is ghosting. This prno uk monitor has none of it. The build quality of prno uk this monitor is also quite prno uk nice; prno uk with a prno uk heavy, sturdy, metal base.As others have mentioned, there is a white glow on the corners of the screen when the picture is very dark (a.k.a IPS glow), but you only notice it if you're looking for it. If you prefer darker blacks and are okay with ghosting, buy a VA monitor instead. The AW2721D would EASILY be a FIVE STAR Monitor if it wasnt prno uk for the issues prno uk I describe prno uk in prno uk the negatives, which completely prno uk offset the prno uk majority of the positives.Positives:+ I instantly unpacked prno uk and set it up, using a 1080Ti, the first thing prno uk I wanted to see, as prno uk we always prno uk do, the prno uk initial light up, back-light bleed, flash-lighting etc., to my prno uk amazement, it was nice and dark black, prno uk zero discernible issues. I set it up and used prno uk it for about prno uk three hours, tried a few games and such and then ran it though prno uk the prno uk Lagom and Eizo online tests, did exceptionally well on both. This prno uk monitor prno uk is reportedly calibrated from the factory, though prno uk I didn't see a slip in prno uk the box with the prno uk measurements, as you would expect, prno uk though, I'll look again.+ G-Sync Ultimate is actually much smoother the more I use it compared to for example prno uk the G7 or the LG prno uk 27GN950, you can definitely tell prno uk a difference, very noticeable prno uk in RTS and strategy prno uk games prno uk when you're panning the map a lot, same prno uk thing for other games as prno uk well. It's become more prno uk pronounced over prno uk the past prno uk couple of days, definitely makes more prno uk of a prno uk difference than initially thought.+ The prno uk GUI is near prno uk identical prno uk to prno uk the Alienware AW2521HFL, with a few small omissions, prno uk surprisingly, prno uk the 25 inch has a bit more prno uk feature prno uk rich prno uk GUI options.+ Colors on the AW2721D are slightly more vibrant than the AW2521HFL, it prno uk was at least noticeable over HDMI, with my Nintendo Switch and PS4 Pro. I prno uk don't prno uk think this prno uk monitor is prno uk as bright prno uk as the prno uk LG 27GN950, I would prno uk be prno uk stunned if it measured around 750 nits of HDR prno uk brightness as the LG did. Though it's considerably brighter than the G7.+ prno uk I prno uk immediately ran checks for color banding, display prno uk uniformity etc., and I'm prno uk very pleased, this monitor prno uk did exceedingly well, among the top prno uk I've used.+ When selecting 144hz, prno uk in the Nvidia prno uk control panel, you actually can set the monitor to 12bpc, vice 8 and 10, very prno uk interesting, you typically don't have this as an option on the majority prno uk of prno uk monitors.+ Standard color mode offers the best, and most prno uk accurate colors, RTS and RPG are the most colorful, nice thing prno uk is prno uk you can prno uk have independent settings for prno uk each input. RPG is the best balance of all of prno uk them, prno uk the most versatile.+ The prno uk stand is prno uk monolithic, prno uk wow - just wow, prno uk it truly looks the part, prno uk I love the Alienware logo on the front as well, prno uk surprised they prno uk just now added this, prno uk should have been there prno uk all along. Definitely a huge fan of the construction and quality of it, prno uk among, prno uk if not prno uk the best prno uk available.+ Monitor prno uk does not have wake or sleep issues with PC, tested prno uk this prno uk multiple times, no prno uk issues. Ensure in prno uk device prno uk manager, it does prno uk not prno uk say PnP Monitor, that you actually prno uk load the prno uk drivers and it prno uk reflects AW2721D.+ Playing Borderlands 3 prno uk on this monitor prno uk is prno uk definitely a sight to behold, prno uk in HDR or prno uk SDR, both look prno uk exceptional, again, the colors on prno uk this are definitely more prno uk pronounced than most monitors playing HDR prno uk content. Very nice surprise, same with NBA prno uk 2K21, it looks better prno uk than expected in HDR.+ I find this prno uk monitor prno uk in prno uk many ways far prno uk superior to its closest prno uk competitor, the Samsung G7, it definitely has better prno uk colors, much greater viewing angles, prno uk better prno uk AG coating, clearer, two HDMIs and has G-Sync prno uk Ultimate. The latter is not prno uk as noticeable as one would prno uk think though it's exceptionally smooth. Without a doubt the AW2721D also prno uk has some prno uk of the best tonal and color gradients of any prno uk monitor I've used.+ You can actually prno uk change prno uk the colors in HDR mode, this is the prno uk first monitor I've used that prno uk had this capability, prno uk you can select prno uk between prno uk multiple different presets, the colors prno uk in HDR prno uk on the AW2721D prno uk are among prno uk the best I've seen. Played multiple HDR games, and prno uk it was prno uk readily apparent, very colorful and vibrant, and prno uk to prno uk my surprise was much brighter and more livelier than I expected it to be.Negatives:- The lack of VESA prno uk Display prno uk Stream Compression (DSC), I will see what happens in the prno uk next couple of weeks, though I prno uk didn't prno uk buy this to have Chroma subsampling! It prno uk also prno uk should prno uk have prno uk Ultra Low Motion Blur (ULMB) prno uk support as well. Currently, you can only prno uk get 144hz at 10bit prno uk color, not the prno uk full prno uk 240hz, in order to go beyond prno uk 144hz, you have to change prno uk it to 8bit color. prno uk This prno uk is one thing prno uk Samsung got right with the G7, it prno uk supports both DSC and ULMB. The lack of DSC prno uk could be due prno uk to prno uk the prno uk fact this monitor uses a dedicated G-Sync module and its prno uk a limitation of the hardware.- prno uk This prno uk monitor prno uk needs prno uk an easier way to change inputs, vice having to go into the prno uk GUI prno uk every time. Why isnt there an auto port switch when prno uk it detects a signal!- prno uk The ports on the back are extremely difficult prno uk to access. The prno uk bottom lip of the monitor in the rear serves no purpose prno uk other than to crimp your prno uk cables. I'm using a prno uk VESA certified KableDirekt DP 1.4 cable and two high prno uk end HDMI 2.0 prno uk cables, very tight and unnecessarily crowded port area, theres plenty of space to spread them prno uk out more.- Noticeable overshoot prno uk in MS Office, web browsing (text) and other apps when using the faster or higher response time setting, sometimes noticeable prno uk during gaming as well, you prno uk are left using the slowest setting, fast. Im able to prno uk use the prno uk AW2521HFL with extreme settings and no discernible overshoot occurs.- THE BIG prno uk ONE prno uk - prno uk As of right prno uk now, the EDID does not allow prno uk this monitor accept prno uk a 4K signal. prno uk The PS4 Pro only prno uk recognizes prno uk up to prno uk a 1080p prno uk signal, prno uk just wow! It prno uk will prno uk not prno uk accept a 4K signal prno uk for prno uk console prno uk gaming nor prno uk for Netflix over HDMI. This demonstrates prno uk a serious prno uk disconnect with many gamers who prno uk like to use prno uk the prno uk HDMI prno uk ports on their monitors for their gaming consoles, Roku, Apple TV etc. Why have HDMI 2.0b ports if theyre not able to be used to their full potential. Nearly every HDMI prno uk 2.0b equipped prno uk monitor to come out prno uk in the prno uk past 3-4 years from major manufactures will do this.- There's also no auto input source, very strange prno uk that this is not available, prno uk it was on the AW2521HFL, so now, every time you quit playing a game on console you have to manually click the toggle on the monitor to change it to DP.- Of note, when HDR games are played, prno uk it prno uk doesn't flash prno uk an HDR sign like every prno uk HDR prno uk monitor I've used prno uk previously, prno uk it's not until you access the monitor's settings do you see the game is being played prno uk in HDR.- Lacks the prno uk two prno uk primary capabilities I was looking for when purchasing it, DSC and the ability to accept prno uk a 4K signal via HDMI.

Buyer's experience:

1: It is a sad day when you have to notch one star off a review of one of the best gaming monitors I've ever owned because it forces you to install something that has nothing to do with image quality.       4: Great monitor, I got this one after returning a Samsung Odyssey G7 I previously purchased in exchange for the alienware AW2721D as it has a Gsync Module installed. It has several Refresh Rates Avaliable and with the higher end Gsync Ultimate Module it can technically support any framerate between 30-240FPs if you use a Framerate Limiter like RivaTuner. The HDR isn't all that great though and seems to just be a dynamic backlight gimmick, but I didn't buy it for HDR and most competitive gamers wouldnt care for it either.
