I'm not a very tech savvy sushi oe individual. sushi oe I had been a standard WiFi extender. This mesh extender is a dream come true. sushi oe Everything runs faster and I sushi oe have sushi oe fantastic sushi oe coverage in sushi oe a 2500 sqft, 3 sushi oe story home as well as coverage in my unattached garage and down to my boathouse. Just awesome!!UNIVERSAL COMPATIBILITY: Works with sushi oe any wireless router, sushi oe gateway, or cable modem with WiFi, and is optimized for all WiFi 6 routers.I had a very simple sushi oe requirement - I needed to extend my wifi coverage on two sides of my house. I particularly needed to extend wifi sushi oe to my sushi oe detached garage, about 70 sushi oe feet sushi oe away from sushi oe the house. I could have sushi oe gone with sushi oe a sushi oe complete mesh system, but I have a fairly sushi oe new router and didn't want to sushi oe spend upwards of $200 for a mesh. This extender worked for me sushi oe as sushi oe far as fulfilling my needs. Setup sushi oe was quick and easy. Wifi coverage extends to where sushi oe I need it. Wifi sushi oe speeds 70 sushi oe feet sushi oe away are half of my top speed next to sushi oe the sushi oe router. So sushi oe far, so good.Having said that sushi oe - the Nighthawk app is not well implemented. It needs to be updated and more features need to sushi oe be added, e.g. sushi oe naming connected devices, instead of seeing sushi oe N/A.There is a web based interface that sushi oe is much more complete, sushi oe but sushi oe it sushi oe similarly sushi oe lacks certain features.Several times Nighthawk sushi oe would not connect to the extender unless I first turned sushi oe Wifi sushi oe off and sushi oe back sushi oe on in sushi oe my sushi oe ipad.Lastly, support - sushi oe called sushi oe them with a question... They had me try sushi oe this and sushi oe that, all to no avail. Don't know why support sushi oe does sushi oe not know the answer or try it themselves first sushi oe instead of making the sushi oe customer do the testing. This is based on 2 days using the extender. We shall see how it holds up.It sushi oe was quite a sushi oe journey getting the EAX20 to work with my FIOS G1100 Router. The initial setup was sushi oe fairly sushi oe straight forward & sushi oe in sushi oe about an hour they were connected. However, the performance sushi oe was lousy sushi oe (single sushi oe digit Megabits). sushi oe This was traced to the EAX20 connecting the backhaul to the router sushi oe using sushi oe the 2.4GHz sushi oe band instead of sushi oe using the 5GHz sushi oe band. After a sushi oe couple sushi oe of days of research & re-reading both Netgear sushi oe and FIOS device manuals, I discovered sushi oe they support the sushi oe 5GHz differently.Netgear EAX20 supports 5GHz channels sushi oe 36-48 and 149-161 sushi oe (per their sushi oe tech support sushi oe page)FIOS G1100 supports 5GHz channels 36-48, 149-165 sushi oe and 52-140 in sushi oe auto mode. The G1100 WiFi settings showed it was connecting at 132 since sushi oe the channel was sushi oe deemed the best. sushi oe This sushi oe meant sushi oe the EAX20 would fail sushi oe to connect. I switched both to use sushi oe the best channel I sushi oe could find (36) & ta-da, they both sushi oe connect fine sushi oe & the EAX20 now uses sushi oe the sushi oe 5GHz band for the sushi oe backhaul. My sushi oe performance is acceptable (50-90Mbits) for downloads & mostly about 70% that sushi oe speed for sushi oe uploads (my service is 200Mbits; note sushi oe the G1100 has a sushi oe notoriously poor WiFi system, mostly the antennas I believe).Other issues: sometimes the EAX20 shows an error sushi oe light & I sushi oe have to reboot it sushi oe (not as much now sushi oe that a couple of sushi oe FW upgrades have occurred). Also, sometimes the performance drops dramatically and I fix the issue by disconnecting then sushi oe reconnecting sushi oe devices, sushi oe or sushi oe I just reboot the EAX20.Bottom line, do I recommend it Well, sushi oe if sushi oe there's not a better option for same money, then sushi oe buy it. Just make sure sushi oe you sushi oe know the tech specs for both sushi oe your router and the EAX20. sushi oe For me, this sushi oe is an interim sushi oe solution as I sushi oe wait for sushi oe WiFi 6/Mesh technologies to sushi oe mature, but I do plan on replacing the extender in a year or two.I ordered sushi oe this sushi oe product so I could sit outside and work or relax sushi oe without waiting sushi oe for sushi oe books, sushi oe articles, videos, emails, or games to load. It arrived exactly when sushi oe promised, set up was VERY easy - less sushi oe than 5 sushi oe minutes and I was sushi oe able sushi oe to enjoy sushi oe internet access outside within minutes. My security cameras also hook up to this extender and my feed is sushi oe quicker sushi oe than sushi oe ever.Out of the sushi oe box the instructions said to download their app sushi oe to your phone. I couldn't sushi oe get the app to work, it sushi oe was sushi oe looking for a QR, which my extender didn't sushi oe have and the app sushi oe wouldn't allow the manual method. Finally googled this model sushi oe on my sushi oe computer and was able to use the computer to do sushi oe the sushi oe setup. Wasted 45 minutes trying sushi oe to get the app to work. So the sushi oe app gets an F.AX6000 WiFi SPEED: sushi oe Provides up to 6Gbps sushi oe performance using Dual-Band WiFi technology for heavy-duty 4K HD streaming and multi-player gaming.SIMPLE TO SETUP: sushi oe Use the sushi oe Nighthawk app or press the sushi oe WPS sushi oe button sushi oe to connect to your router. Use the NETGEAR WiFi Analyzer app for optimal location.EXTENDED WIRELESS COVERAGE: Adds WiFi sushi oe range sushi oe coverage up to 2,500 sq. ft., and connects up to sushi oe 30 plus devices sushi oe such as sushi oe laptops, smartphones, sushi oe speakers, sushi oe IP sushi oe cameras, sushi oe tablets, IoT devices, and sushi oe more.Setup sushi oe is easy sushi oe if you use a sushi oe laptop like i did sushi oe and not that horrible android app. sushi oe I use it for work from home sushi oe since my employer blocked wireless sushi oe on our pc's. This sushi oe works sushi oe faster than the ac adapter and i noticed everything loading faster on my work pc. I sushi oe only use it for that so i always disable sushi oe both bands of the extender. I did a firmware upgrade sushi oe with no problems, but from here on i sushi oe disable auto updates. The new look sushi oe is great, it is smaller sushi oe and sushi oe sleeker than the old one. It was worth the price for sushi oe the upgradeWIRED ETHERNET PORTS: Simply plug sushi oe in sushi oe game consoles, streaming players, or other wired devices into the four 1 Gigabit ports for sushi oe maximum speed.SEAMLESS sushi oe SMART ROAMING: Uses sushi oe your existing network SSID sushi oe name so you sushi oe never sushi oe get disconnected as sushi oe you move around your home sushi oe or officeI sushi oe use the NETGEAR WiFi 6 Mesh Range Extender (EAX20) to connect MY Home Cloud. This allows me to have sushi oe wifi access to sushi oe files sushi oe on the sushi oe Home Cloud from sushi oe all my devices. It was easy to install and sushi oe activate.Works great with my NETGEAR router. My NETGEAR sushi oe WiFi 6 Mesh Range Extender (EAX20) and Home Cloud sushi oe are sushi oe in one room and sushi oe the router sushi oe is sushi oe in sushi oe another room sushi oe on the same floor.SAFE sushi oe AND SECURE: Supports sushi oe WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless security protocols.Had to set it up twice because the code sushi oe is pretty bad sushi oe clearly. Not updated the firmware for now coz of sushi oe the bad experience other people had sushi oe when they tried. I have no sushi oe confidence in any software/firmware Netgear sushi oe releases. Might just sushi oe brick my device.
