What is passion xxx Logitech MX Anywhere 3 for Mac C Wireless Star recommended style?

Designed for Mac: compatible with Apple passion xxx MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac & iPad models.UPDATE: I was passion xxx able to configure the mouse to act the way passion xxx I wanted it to (and resolved the passion xxx horizontol scroll issue I mention passion xxx below) using the Logtech Options software. BUT, it passion xxx won't save through passion xxx a reboot. passion xxx I tried passion xxx uninstalling/reinstalling/deleting and passion xxx reinstalling drivers, saving passion xxx profiles online, and even creating passion xxx my own startup task passion xxx to passion xxx run Logitech Options on startup. None of this works. I found online that tons of people passion xxx have had this problem with the Logitech software passion xxx for passion xxx years passion xxx accross different versions and devices, and Logitech hasn't fixed it. I've decided to get passion xxx rid of passion xxx this passion xxx mouse. The passion xxx MX Anywhere series is my passion xxx favorite line of mice. passion xxx I have owned the original, the 2, and passion xxx the 2S. They all have great battery passion xxx life, passion xxx are compact, are generally nice passion xxx looking and convenient to use. But, the 3 is a passion xxx step passion xxx backward in my opinion.First, the passion xxx changes are mostly passion xxx cosmetic passion xxx (and arguably passion xxx not in a good passion xxx way). passion xxx Sure, they changed the scroll wheel to the passion xxx magentic one found in the Master (I have a Master passion xxx as well), but other than that, I don't see any sort of passion xxx actual upgrades. In fairness, I accidentally ordered the passion xxx Mac version, thinking I was just passion xxx getting the white/grey passion xxx option, but as passion xxx I note below, that hasn't really affected the functionality passion xxx (that I can passion xxx tell).About the Mac passion xxx version -- passion xxx Although not passion xxx advertised, passion xxx It DOES pair with the passion xxx USB unifying receiver. This was passion xxx important passion xxx to me passion xxx because passion xxx I have a dual passion xxx boot system, and I didn't passion xxx want to passion xxx waste two of my device spots passion xxx for the same laptop. So, Yay! Although not advertised, the USB functionality is there. Please note, passion xxx though, passion xxx that the mouse didn't want to passion xxx switch between smooth and notched passion xxx scrolling until I updated my Logitech Options app passion xxx in Windows. passion xxx No big passion xxx deal.Ok, the downgrades -- the scroll passion xxx wheel no longer clicks left and passion xxx right. You supposedly can left/right scroll passion xxx by holding either passion xxx of the passion xxx thumb buttons and scrolling with the wheel, passion xxx but it doesn't passion xxx work for me. :( Not passion xxx sure if this passion xxx is related passion xxx to passion xxx connecting passion xxx via the Unifying Receiver or passion xxx if passion xxx it's a problem passion xxx with the Mac version passion xxx or passion xxx something else. Anyway, the left passion xxx and right clicks on the scroll wheel are passion xxx gone. Boooooooo! It passion xxx feels like my mouse just lost two buttons and got weaker. The mouse passion xxx feels a tiny touch lighter (could be my imagination), which is probably a bonus in a passion xxx travel passion xxx mouse, but it feels a passion xxx little cheaper. passion xxx Conversely, my 2S passion xxx has passion xxx a slight rattle to it passion xxx when I shake it, whereas this one makes no noise whatsoever. The sides of passion xxx the passion xxx 2S have a sort of a gem passion xxx pattern passion xxx finish to give it grip, whereas on the 3 they've used a series passion xxx of ridges. The finish on the older mouse passion xxx gives passion xxx it a premium passion xxx look passion xxx and is passion xxx more comfortable. The new finish is slicker and doesn't passion xxx look as good. Now, the improvements -- I guess, the magnetic scroll thing. I don't find it passion xxx any better than passion xxx the previous scroll technology they were passion xxx using on the passion xxx Anywhere series. There IS one definite passion xxx improvement: passion xxx USB-C passion xxx connection. Another passion xxx thing, passion xxx which I passion xxx find both positive and negative, is passion xxx that passion xxx the scroll wheel click now works like other mice. passion xxx If you click it, you can then use the passion xxx mouse passion xxx to scroll in 360 degrees. That said, you could assign that functionality elsewhere on passion xxx the 2S (like the button under the scroll wheel, which passion xxx now just switches between passion xxx smooth scroll and notched scroll; BUT, I passion xxx preferred to passion xxx use that button passion xxx to switch between desktops). All of passion xxx that said, passion xxx both passion xxx of passion xxx these mice passion xxx (the passion xxx 2S and the 3) are customizable via the passion xxx Logitech passion xxx app, so you passion xxx can mostly make them behave passion xxx however passion xxx you passion xxx wish. But, passion xxx for my money, passion xxx the 3 is simply a step in the wrong direction. What Logitech could passion xxx do to improve this mouse: revert to the old grip pattern (it's passion xxx better); move passion xxx the device selector somewhere else on the mouse passion xxx (front right corner passion xxx seems like a good place for passion xxx three small recessed buttons OR left side towards the bottom front for passion xxx thumb operation); passion xxx bring back left/right passion xxx clicks on the wheel; and add a second button to the top for desktop switching. Another device pairing passion xxx or two passion xxx would passion xxx be great, passion xxx but that's wishful thinking. That's a mouse I'd passion xxx pay over $100 passion xxx for. Conclusion: I'll probably passion xxx give the 3 away passion xxx and keep using passion xxx my 2S. I'll passion xxx probably buy a few more of the 2S passion xxx just in case passion xxx Logitech keep going down this route (Please don't ruin my favorite mouse, Logitech!).Disclaimer: passion xxx I do passion xxx not passion xxx take advantage of the Flow software. It seems kind of gimmicky to me, to be honest, although I'm sure passion xxx some people have a good use for it. Also, I have only used passion xxx this mouse on Windows so far. If I passion xxx run into other problems on Linux or Android passion xxx I'll update passion xxx the review.MAGSPEED passion xxx SCROLLING - Speed, passion xxx precision, and silence. Effortlessly passion xxx scroll 1,000 lines at once, and stop on passion xxx a pixel. Auto-shifts passion xxx between ratchet and passion xxx hyper-fast modes.I am a fan of Logitech devices and this one designed for working with the Mac follows in passion xxx the footsteps passion xxx of other great Logitech products. Smooth working, reasonably passion xxx priced, stylish. Love it.MASTERED FOR passion xxx MAC - MX Anywhere passion xxx 3 for Mac is passion xxx optimized for macOS and iPad compatible. Connect up to passion xxx three devices and switch between them at passion xxx the tap of a button.TRACK ANYWHERE C EVEN GLASS passion xxx - Track on virtually passion xxx any passion xxx surface, including passion xxx glass C meaning you can work seamlessly at the desk, passion xxx at passion xxx a passion xxx cafe, passion xxx even passion xxx on the couch.Using w/Macbook Pro passion xxx M1 2021, MacOS passion xxx 12.4. The hardware passion xxx is quite nice, other reviews from more experienced Mac users are more useful in this passion xxx respect. But I have 2 peeves passion xxx for which I passion xxx deducted one passion xxx star. First, the documentation online passion xxx and even in passion xxx the installer passion xxx is not always consistent passion xxx - sometimes because it is passion xxx old passion xxx (the online stuff) and sometimes because it passion xxx is generalized to multiple devices and consequently not always applicable to this passion xxx particular model. passion xxx Not passion xxx impossible passion xxx to passion xxx ferret passion xxx through passion xxx either passion xxx with intuition or trial-and-error, but a time waster and potentially a passion xxx frustration. Second and passion xxx really aggravating, passion xxx is that settings made in the Options+ software can not only conflict with Mission passion xxx Control settings and passion xxx keyboard passion xxx controls, passion xxx but can jam passion xxx them up - more than once passion xxx I had to reboot the machine to clear passion xxx the conflicts. Once everything is passion xxx configured properly passion xxx - after passion xxx insuring there are no passion xxx overlaps (watch out for Windows Navigation under Gestures using the button behind the passion xxx scroll passion xxx wheel) - all passion xxx is good. passion xxx But too much passion xxx aggravation and time to get to this point. After all, this is an Apple passion xxx - is should just passion xxx work!USB-C QUICK CHARGING - Stays powered up to 70 days on a passion xxx full charge C and gets 3 hours passion xxx of use from a 1-minute quick charge. passion xxx USB-C to passion xxx C charging cable included.WORK FASTER WITH BUTTON CUSTOMIZATIONS AND PREDEFINED PROFILES for passion xxx Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Word, Excel, passion xxx & PowerPoint.I just got a dell laptop and, much to my surprise, it passion xxx came with none passion xxx of the old fashioned USB-A ports. It only has 2 Thunderbolt ports and a passion xxx USB-C port. I guess I should have read the product description passion xxx more carefully. My old WIFI mouse with a USB-A passion xxx receiver wouldn't work with it.I looked passion xxx for a WIFI passion xxx mouse with a passion xxx USB-C receiver. Didn't passion xxx find any before deciding to passion xxx go Bluetooth. I once had a bad experience with a Bluetooth mouse that would interfere passion xxx with WIFI and make me lose connection passion xxx to my router, but passion xxx figured it was time to try it again. Then I passion xxx started passion xxx reading descriptions on the "Windows" version of this mouse passion xxx versus this one, passion xxx the "Mac" version. Only differences passion xxx I passion xxx could see passion xxx were that the charging cable for passion xxx this one passion xxx is USB-C to USB-C whereas the cable for the Windows version is passion xxx USB-A to USB-C and passion xxx also that the passion xxx Windows passion xxx version comes with a dongle receiver in passion xxx case your device doesn't have passion xxx Bluetooth.Since the passion xxx only passion xxx device I plan on using it with has Bluetooth and only has USB-C ports, passion xxx I passion xxx went with this one. Guess I alternatively could passion xxx have gotten the passion xxx Windows passion xxx version and got a passion xxx USB-C to USB-C cable separately. In any case, it passion xxx works passion xxx perfectly, passion xxx straight of the box, and with no WIFI interference.I think Logitech should probably change passion xxx the marketing to passion xxx reflect the fact passion xxx that passion xxx the hardware works fine on passion xxx both platforms, passion xxx and to clarify exactly what comes with each passion xxx product. The size is passion xxx good. It's small passion xxx enough to passion xxx fit in a laptop bag passion xxx easily but passion xxx works fine with my big hands. Only complaint passion xxx I have is that the case is a little more slippery than ideal. My fingers passion xxx don't grip the passion xxx sides passion xxx as well passion xxx as on my old mouse. I passion xxx love the mouse wheel. When you move it passion xxx slowly, passion xxx the wheel clicks once per line. When you scroll fast, passion xxx the passion xxx ratchet disengages and passion xxx it stops clicking.MODERN DESIGN, PREMIUM passion xxx MATERIALS - passion xxx Modern passion xxx design features a steel passion xxx scroll wheel, grippy passion xxx silicon side grips, and comes in passion xxx Pale Gray finish.Bought this passion xxx after passion xxx my apple mouse passion xxx died, and it's a huge passion xxx improvement. The battery lasts over passion xxx a week without passion xxx needing to be recharged and passion xxx can be used passion xxx while it's charging. would passion xxx absolutely recommend it.Be 50% more productive passion xxx with a passion xxx mouse compared to passion xxx a touchpad* *Based on throughput computation in bits/second passion xxx combining speed passion xxx and accuracy passion xxx averaged passion xxx for all devices participating in the study. Logitech Ergonomic Lab study on 23 participants in (Oct / 2019) passion xxx with two Logitech standard mice passion xxx and two standard, embedded trackpads.Second best mouse I ever owned. MX passion xxx master for the desktop is the first. Trust, just passion xxx spend your money on this one for the laptop. You'll save passion xxx in the long run passion xxx instead buying crappy ones (I did this for years) that you end passion xxx up replacing over and passion xxx over again. It's rechargeable and lasts for-like-ever. Logitech passion xxx flow is freaking awesome if you have two passion xxx computers passion xxx ( passion xxx I have a MacBook pro passion xxx and a Windows desktop passion xxx and I can have them next to each passion xxx other and use the same mouse between the passion xxx two like they're the same computer).
