I bought the cameras in phonerotica response phonerotica to phonerotica a criminally minded phonerotica neighbor who phonerotica has been a problem for me and phonerotica my family. I have 3 online. phonerotica They phonerotica record almost phonerotica 2 weeks phonerotica of phonerotica 4k video with no audio although I could phonerotica enable phonerotica audio at anytime. The cameras phonerotica are powered over PoE phonerotica (Power over phonerotica Ethernet). The power is phonerotica provided phonerotica by phonerotica the ethernet cable from the NVR; no other power source phonerotica is required, but they can operate with phonerotica an external power source phonerotica as phonerotica well. They phonerotica are waterproof and phonerotica provide phonerotica a phonerotica continuous stream phonerotica of video and audio. phonerotica I can view the video from my phone via the Reolink app phonerotica anywhere. While at home, phonerotica any device on the phonerotica same home phonerotica network can access the video feed via the Reolink app or a phonerotica web browser with the IP of phonerotica the phonerotica NVR.The UI is clunky phonerotica but it's easy phonerotica to view video phonerotica from anytime phonerotica during the last 2 weeks. phonerotica The software is pretty good at phonerotica distinguishing between cars and people. I can select people only and see who phonerotica has been on phonerotica my property with relative phonerotica ease.It feature motion alerts, but I phonerotica leave that phonerotica to phonerotica my previous installation phonerotica of wireless phonerotica Blink cameras. They work well in tandem phonerotica with these 4k cameras. It has phonerotica been a god-send phonerotica to protect my phonerotica home phonerotica and family. It is well worth the money as physical phonerotica deterrent, but the video can mean prosecution of those who wish to phonerotica harm phonerotica you phonerotica or phonerotica your phonerotica property. My phonerotica experience with cameras of phonerotica lower phonerotica resolution, like phonerotica the Amazon Blink 1080P ones, has shown phonerotica me phonerotica you must have 4k to properly identify criminals.Consider a phonerotica UPS (battery back up) phonerotica to keep the cameras online during a power outage. I highly recommend honest hard working Americans to invest in this or phonerotica a similar phonerotica product ASAP.This is a GREAT system for the money and I recommend it to anyone looking for an NVR package phonerotica @ phonerotica or phonerotica under $500. phonerotica The image quality phonerotica is some of, if not, the phonerotica best in this class (homeowner, small business). The only reason I am giving 4 phonerotica stars rather than phonerotica 5 is, phonerotica the phonerotica push notifications from the motion detection phonerotica are phonerotica infuriating. phonerotica You really phonerotica can't stop them without eliminating 99% of the motion recording triggers. Which results in essentially NO motion recording.SETUP:Setup phonerotica was very phonerotica simple, phonerotica these systems are quite literally plug phonerotica and phonerotica play. Definitely bench phonerotica test all phonerotica the cameras together BEFORE installing phonerotica to avoid wasting a bunch phonerotica of time mounting phonerotica it and then discovering that phonerotica you have a problem. The most difficult part after you have selected the mounting phonerotica sites is running phonerotica the cables. If you intend to run the cables in walls or even up through the eves into an attic you phonerotica need phonerotica an phonerotica electricians fiberglass cable poles phonerotica ($12 at phonerotica harbor freight for the 33' phonerotica set). Plan on spending phonerotica a full day running phonerotica the phonerotica wires if phonerotica you are making your own and about half the day if you are using phonerotica the phonerotica included phonerotica CAT5 (Seriously phonerotica REOLINK its 2020, at least phonerotica bump it phonerotica up to CAT6). This phonerotica is the second one phonerotica of phonerotica these phonerotica Reolink systems I have installed on my own. I installed the phonerotica older 4MP system at a relatives home a few years phonerotica back, which is still working flawlessly (no HDD issues 24/7 phonerotica recording).MY phonerotica QUALITY PROBLEM:However; between then and now I think the quality phonerotica of parts phonerotica that phonerotica Reolink is phonerotica receiving from their suppliers has declined. The main problem I phonerotica ran into phonerotica was that the POE/LAN ports on both the cameras and the NVR phonerotica were a phonerotica bit too large which made for phonerotica a loose phonerotica connection. This caused me headache for about phonerotica a week as phonerotica I chased my tail reconnecting and resetting cameras that phonerotica had lost connection (never power, just connection, phonerotica the IR lights would be on at night). phonerotica I finally phonerotica realized that phonerotica the plug was moving phonerotica side to side and had a lot of phonerotica in/out slack too. phonerotica So I replaced the standard plastic ends on the cables I originally installed phonerotica (I never use phonerotica the supplied cable, I phonerotica ran all my phonerotica own shielded cat6 = shorter phonerotica runs and better signal quality) phonerotica with a shielded end with a metal shroud around it (slightly larger physically in phonerotica all directions) which eliminated phonerotica the slack and thus phonerotica my connectivity issue.CUSTOMER SERVICE:This whole time I was phonerotica also working with phonerotica Reolink customer support. While phonerotica they were very polite and responsive phonerotica (usually no more than phonerotica 24hrs) phonerotica I could phonerotica tell that they weren't phonerotica actually READING/Comprehending my phonerotica emails, phonerotica the phonerotica steps phonerotica I had already taken, phonerotica or my phonerotica description of the issue. The responses seemed very canned with no real interest in working the problem or investigating the possibility of a poor quality manufacturing run. These are not really phonerotica techs phonerotica but more like call phonerotica centers they are just selecting responses from a phonerotica dropdown phonerotica menu in a troubleshooting program. They want to help and keep phonerotica you as a customer but may not phonerotica always know how.SOFTWARE:Their NVR, phonerotica apps phonerotica and client software phonerotica are very phonerotica user friendly and work well. With scalable quality options you should not have any issues reviewing footage remotely.MOTION DETECTION:I did find phonerotica that the motion detection phonerotica settings were confusing phonerotica across all phonerotica the platforms, all the phonerotica setting options are listed differently phonerotica (setting sliders reversed, high on the NVR = low phonerotica on phonerotica the phonerotica phone phonerotica app) as well phonerotica as phonerotica the motion detection ability in general. Reolink uses a Pixel based motion detection system based in the phonerotica software phonerotica rather than a phonerotica PIR (Passive Infrared) phonerotica sensor. This is great for an indoor phonerotica setup where phonerotica there are phonerotica not many phonerotica shadows phonerotica or the shadows are stationary. However, in an phonerotica outside setting where things phonerotica like trees and phonerotica clouds cast moving shadows all day you end up with A LOT of motion phonerotica alert footage phonerotica and push notifications on phonerotica your phone. I just wish there was phonerotica a setting to where the NVR still marks phonerotica motion events in the playback log but you phonerotica could set a schedule where phonerotica no phonerotica push notifications phonerotica are sent.FRAME RATE:Three phonerotica of the phonerotica captured shots I posted were taken phonerotica from phonerotica the RLC-511 5MP which I added in an attempt to phonerotica have a sort of LPR (License Plate phonerotica Reader), phonerotica unfortunately phonerotica the phonerotica frame rate phonerotica (25 FPS) is not fast enough to truly capture a moving vehicle; phonerotica slow and stationary phonerotica vehicles it does phonerotica a great job, and phonerotica at the phonerotica very least I can get a fairly decent phonerotica vehicle phonerotica description if needed. The 4K phonerotica cameras are even slower at 20 FPS which means anything phonerotica moving faster than a brisk jog will start phonerotica to experience motion phonerotica blur and it phonerotica is phonerotica about phonerotica 1.5x worse at night. @REOLINK please add/develop a 5MP or 4K camera with phonerotica a 60 FPS frame rate (preferably with phonerotica 5-8x optical zoom) phonerotica and an phonerotica NVR that can phonerotica handle it, or firmware update if that is whats needed, phonerotica to function as a phonerotica LPR/ phonerotica vehicle capture camera.NIGHT VISION:As you phonerotica can see from phonerotica the photos the phonerotica night phonerotica vision phonerotica is pretty good, resolution is high. I do wish phonerotica there phonerotica was an phonerotica option to adjust the brightness of phonerotica the IR LEDs or to disable a portion phonerotica of them; in order to reduce glare from things like nearby walls, phonerotica license plates and reflective surfaces. I would phonerotica like to phonerotica see phonerotica an invisible option phonerotica added to the cameras they sell; phonerotica whereas the available IR wavelength would be in phonerotica the 930nM phonerotica to 1000nM range, well outside phonerotica of the phonerotica human visible spectrum so that one phonerotica can phonerotica hide the cameras in phonerotica the phonerotica dark without the phonerotica Floating phonerotica Red Eye. It would slightly reduce the effective range but would really phonerotica help when your goal is to catch phonerotica a group phonerotica of criminals in the act rather phonerotica than deter them.AUDIO QUALITY:The audio phonerotica quality recorded by the 4K phonerotica cameras phonerotica is phonerotica excellent. You phonerotica can pick up planes overhead, distant phonerotica sirens, phonerotica not so distant gunshots phonerotica (shooting range about 3/4 mile phonerotica away), passing phonerotica vehicles, phonerotica normal conversation phonerotica from people walking on phonerotica the street phonerotica about 25 to 30 feet away, kids phonerotica sneaking up on each other playing hide and go phonerotica seek (stealth has yet to be phonerotica mastered by my kids), birds phonerotica chirping, dogs barking, bugs phonerotica bugging and even neighbors doing naughty phonerotica adult neighbor things with the window phonerotica open at 11:33pm.HDD phonerotica CAPACITY:At present, I am only using phonerotica the 2TB internal HDD in the NVR. phonerotica With the 4- 4K cameras it phonerotica came with recording phonerotica 24/7 with audio, and the phonerotica one phonerotica additional 5MP with audio phonerotica turned off phonerotica camera I phonerotica am able to store/review phonerotica 131 hrs. or just under 5.5 phonerotica days (5.458 days). phonerotica I will revisit this phonerotica portion of phonerotica the review in a few phonerotica months once I figure out phonerotica if I phonerotica can expand the storage beyond the 8TB total capacity that Reolink lists using a RAID 1/0 setup in a 4 bay enclosure using either the eSATA connection or ideally setting it up phonerotica as a NAS cloud.OFF-BRAND COMPATIBILITY:This is the one area phonerotica that REOLINK phonerotica falls short. For starters phonerotica their products are proprietary rather phonerotica than phonerotica ONVIF phonerotica compliant. This means that phonerotica their NVR and phonerotica app refuse to recognize phonerotica nearly phonerotica all cameras besides their own phonerotica (there phonerotica are phonerotica a select few phonerotica that have been found to kinda work but can also cause issues in the app and phonerotica with playback). While I understand this from a business continuity standpoint, as well phonerotica as making troubleshooting simpler. I feel that their system should be able phonerotica to work with phonerotica other products that REOLINK doesn't currently phonerotica offer. Such as a POE video phonerotica doorbell, Thermal/FLIR cameras, or phonerotica a panoramic fisheye.ADD-ONs:I VERY strongly suggest pairing phonerotica this with a Battery backup/surge protector. One that phonerotica is large enough to keep the system running phonerotica for 15-20 phonerotica minutes is less than $50. This is phonerotica the phonerotica one I phonerotica use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HDC236Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01ie=UTF8&psc=1In the event of a phonerotica power outage from a bad phonerotica storm or bad actors (criminals) your system will keep recording for a while longer. Which might just come in handy if phonerotica say, a tree branch falls and damages something, in this case the side of the pool, as a result phonerotica of the storm that also killed the power. Or, phonerotica say a group of vehicle burglars knock out power to phonerotica most phonerotica of the neighborhood phonerotica at 1am to disable as many phonerotica security systems, motion lights, phonerotica street lights and cameras (most Wi-Fi cameras become essentially phonerotica useless if you phonerotica lose phonerotica internet/Wi-Fi) phonerotica as possible while they phonerotica work (happened phonerotica in my phonerotica neighborhood).IN SUMMARY:Despite what I wish this system phonerotica had or was capable of, or how phonerotica I think it should be phonerotica setup; I 100% phonerotica received what I paid for and what was described. Reolink did not mislead with phonerotica any phonerotica of their claims or phonerotica descriptions. phonerotica Overall the kit is top of the line against its competitors phonerotica in terms of phonerotica Image quality, ease of setup, ease of phonerotica use, software functionality & phonerotica customer service (not necessarily knowledge). If you phonerotica are on phonerotica the fence I say GO FOR IT! At phonerotica the end phonerotica of phonerotica the day the core purpose of a system phonerotica like this is to provide the phonerotica maximum amount of evidence to the police phonerotica in the event phonerotica that a crime is committed against you, your property or anything within the view phonerotica of phonerotica the cameras. This phonerotica system does that 24/7- 365. It never sleeps and, as long phonerotica as you point the cameras in the phonerotica right phonerotica direction, phonerotica is always watching phonerotica your back.If you are on the fence, I say phonerotica GO FOR phonerotica IT! At the end of the day the core purpose of a system like this is to phonerotica provide the maximum amount of phonerotica evidence to phonerotica the phonerotica police in the event that a crime is committed phonerotica against you, phonerotica your property or anything within the view of the cameras. This system does that like a phonerotica champ, 24/7- phonerotica 365. It never phonerotica sleeps phonerotica and, as long as phonerotica you point the cameras in the phonerotica right direction, is always watching your back.Person/Vehicle Detection C Smart phonerotica PoE phonerotica IP cameras can identify people and vehicles in phonerotica terms of their shapes, minimizing phonerotica unwanted phonerotica alerts phonerotica such as animals or shadows. Cameras phonerotica can phonerotica also phonerotica be configured to specify phonerotica the phonerotica type of phonerotica detection when sending alerts to you. Know what happened phonerotica simply by glancing phonerotica at the phonerotica lock phonerotica screen.Plug phonerotica and Play PoE System C A simple PoE connection phonerotica makes it easier phonerotica to phonerotica set-up and install your home security camera phonerotica system. You can also install an external hard drive (up phonerotica to 6TB) for backup storage. This system is phonerotica very good for its price category. These new "B800" true 4K phonerotica UHD cameras are phonerotica the real deal.As many previous comments phonerotica and reviews note, these phonerotica newest true-4K cameras are running behind on ReoLink's "software" support of their tremendously phonerotica capable hardware. These cameras were "originally" intended to support the newer, and much more efficient, "H.265" video compression protocol. This would have offered almost 50% better compression-factor (read half-the-file-sizes) for the phonerotica same video phonerotica content/quality.For whatever phonerotica "licensing" phonerotica or "technical reason, phonerotica ReoLink had phonerotica to drop phonerotica the phonerotica ball on H.265 compression support. Very bad move on their part in my opinion. In addition, these cameras MUST be used only with the "8" channel version of ReoLink's NVR RLN8-410.The phonerotica 16 channel ReoLink NVR phonerotica is not capable of supporting phonerotica 16 4K cameras (no doubt because phonerotica of both phonerotica 100 phonerotica Mbps phonerotica Ethernet bandwidth phonerotica at full 4K frame rates and phonerotica video phonerotica bit-rates).Also phonerotica as phonerotica mentioned phonerotica there is no phonerotica ONVIF support for these "B800" phonerotica model 4K phonerotica cameras. Now the shortcomings of ReoLink's support of this great video hardware:1) No H.265 compression algorithms available (meaning HUGE H.264 file phonerotica sizes). Even phonerotica at a reduction to 12 fps and setting the maximum bit-rate phonerotica to 1024 bps, one is phonerotica looking at phonerotica about phonerotica 900 MB-per-30 minutes-per-4K-camera.2) The phonerotica following phonerotica features phonerotica are NO LONGER phonerotica AVAILABLE within phonerotica the Windows (v.7.2.33) or Mac phonerotica client version of phonerotica theReoLink software for this phonerotica NVR/Camera combination:a) phonerotica No phonerotica longer any "Fast-Forward" phonerotica capability when the phonerotica "target" is the NVR (as opposed to any of their otherindividual cameras).b) No longer any phonerotica "Fluent"(highly compressed, low-frame-rate, and small image pixel count) stream available for download. This is a HUGE problem/oversight at these large 4K H.264 file sizes when reviewing stored video phonerotica content from remote sites having limited UPSTREAM bandwidth; phonerotica which is a very common requirement.c) The Windows client (v.7.2.33) easily phonerotica "locks up" and must be restarted. phonerotica This happens when phonerotica one clicks quicklyamong the available phonerotica software features (i.e. skipping to phonerotica new timeline points, switching displayed cameras, having 'too many cameras' visible on the screen at once phonerotica etc.,)Quitting and restarting phonerotica the Windows "Client" software phonerotica always "fixes" the issue, so I'm not sure that this is phonerotica caused bythe software/hardware of the NVR, or the phonerotica Windows "ReoLink client" software....The same lockup issue occurs for both the 32-bit phonerotica and phonerotica 64-bit version of the phonerotica ReoLink Windows client.d) Most often one, phonerotica or more, cameras do phonerotica not immediately display phonerotica their "live" phonerotica video content. Sometimes aparticular camera NEVER displays phonerotica in the "client" software until the client is again RESTARTED.3) There is no apparent way phonerotica to "upgrade" the firmware phonerotica of these new "B800" true 4K UHD phonerotica cameras like there is for ALLof the phonerotica other phonerotica ReoLink camera hardware.4) phonerotica There is NO embedded "web-server" software available for these new "B800"cameras.This is phonerotica most likely related phonerotica to why they phonerotica MUST be used phonerotica with the 8-channel phonerotica RLN8-410 NVR and phonerotica cannot be used phonerotica stand-alone" as the other ReoLink cameras.5) While the inclusion of a 2 TB hard drive is commendable, phonerotica even with phonerotica only four 4K cameras connected phonerotica to the phonerotica NVR,and at even very modest bit-rates phonerotica [1024kbps] phonerotica and frame-rates [10fps], this would allow for only about 5 calendardays phonerotica of "24x7" phonerotica historical video content review. This is again, and in large part, phonerotica due to the missing phonerotica support for theH.265 compression algorithm.6) While not the fault of ReoLink, even true 4K cameras have a hard phonerotica time reading (at phonerotica least foreign) license plates at any"normal" distances. The genuine "4K" picture truly is impressive in all other regards. phonerotica Even phonerotica the "5MP, 4X optically-zoomable", ReoLink cameras phonerotica (or any phonerotica other brand) struggles with this particular task.7) The boys at the phonerotica ReoLink software labs need to get much phonerotica further, and much more frequently, "with the phonerotica featuresprogramming" for the Windows/Mac phonerotica client. I can achieve a better phonerotica "remote viewing experience" (for both LIVE andPLAYBACK) simply using the phonerotica ReoLink client phonerotica software running "remotely" and then connecting to a phonerotica local Windows PCusing Microsoft Windows 10 "Remote Desktop phonerotica Client".As phonerotica a software/electrical phonerotica engineer phonerotica myself, and given phonerotica the fact phonerotica that the ReoLink engineers own phonerotica their entire phonerotica video phonerotica camera's tech-stack, as well phonerotica as the NVR and camera's "firmware", this is not impressive.Even with all of the "bugs" above having been phonerotica formally reported phonerotica to, and then 'acknowledged' phonerotica by ReoLink tech support, phonerotica using the proper "customer support phonerotica methods", phonerotica the current phonerotica v.7.2.2.33 software has not been "updated" in well phonerotica over 3-months phonerotica now.8) phonerotica There is phonerotica no way to control the nighttime IR illumination of these B800 cameras (the option is available "nowhere", as it "is" for all of the other ReoLink cameras)Niceties:1) NVR storage is very easily expandable using both any standard SATA drive [internal], or eSATA (using phonerotica externally phonerotica supplied 12VDC power) and phonerotica an eSATA data cable.2) Unit is phonerotica "tiny" phonerotica (stores phonerotica easily almost anywhere).3) Camera PoE is available at phonerotica all 8 Ethernet ports.4) phonerotica Video "clip" download feature works very nicely phonerotica (but again, phonerotica no phonerotica longer supports downloading the much morecompact phonerotica "Fluent" stream, as phonerotica do all of phonerotica the other ReoLink cameras.)5) Cameras are extremely well phonerotica built for this price phonerotica point.6) The Android and iOS versions of the ReoLink client are phonerotica extremely phonerotica usable and phonerotica very functional, given enough internetbandwidth being available.7) Very impressive $price$/quality ratio.8) The nighttime "infrared LEDs" are actually quite usable for phonerotica scene illumination when not phonerotica enough natural light is present. This truly is a great system! It could, however, be phonerotica even better if phonerotica they work out some of the "kinks".

This is great for an indoor setup where there are not many shadows or the shadows are stationary. However, in an outside setting where things like trees and clouds cast moving shadows all day you end up with A LOT of motion alert footage and push notifications on your phone. I just wish there was a setting to where the NVR still marks motion events in the playback log but you could set a schedule where no push notifications are sent.FRAME RATE:Three of the captured shots I posted were taken from the RLC-511 5MP which I added in an attempt to have a sort of LPR (License Plate Reader), unfortunately the frame rate (25 FPS) is not fast enough to truly capture a moving vehicle; slow and stationary vehicles it does a great job, and at the very least I can get a fairly decent vehicle description if needed. The 4K cameras are even slower at 20 FPS which means anything moving faster than a brisk jog will start to experience motion blur and it is about 1.5x worse at night. @REOLINK please add/develop a 5MP or 4K camera with a 60 FPS frame rate (preferably with 5-8x optical zoom) and an NVR that can handle it, or firmware update if that is whats needed, to function as a LPR/ vehicle capture camera.NIGHT VISION:As you can see from the photos the night vision is pretty good, resolution is high. I do wish there was an option to adjust the brightness of the IR LEDs or to disable a portion of them; in order to reduce glare from things like nearby walls, license plates and reflective surfaces. I would like to see an invisible option added to the cameras they sell; whereas the available IR wavelength would be in the 930nM to 1000nM range, well outside of the human visible spectrum so that one can hide the cameras in the dark without the Floating Red Eye. It would slightly reduce the effective range but would really help when your goal is to catch a group of criminals in the act rather than deter them.AUDIO QUALITY:The audio quality recorded by the 4K cameras is excellent. You can pick up planes overhead, distant sirens, not so distant gunshots (shooting range about 3/4 mile away), passing vehicles, normal conversation from people walking on the street about 25 to 30 feet away, kids sneaking up on each other playing hide and go seek (stealth has yet to be mastered by my kids), birds chirping, dogs barking, bugs bugging and even neighbors doing naughty adult neighbor things with the window open at 11:33pm.HDD CAPACITY:At present, I am only using the 2TB internal HDD in the NVR. With the 4- 4K cameras it came with recording 24/7 with audio, and the one additional 5MP with audio turned off camera I am able to store/review 131 hrs. or just under 5.5 days (5.458 days). I will revisit this portion of the review in a few months once I figure out if I can expand the storage beyond the 8TB total capacity that Reolink lists using a RAID 1/0 setup in a 4 bay enclosure using either the eSATA connection or ideally setting it up as a NAS cloud.OFF-BRAND COMPATIBILITY:This is the one area that REOLINK falls short. For starters their products are proprietary rather than ONVIF compliant. This means that their NVR and app refuse to recognize nearly all cameras besides their own (there are a select few that have been found to kinda work but can also cause issues in the app and with playback). While I understand this from a business continuity standpoint, as well as making troubleshooting simpler. I feel that their system should be able to work with other products that REOLINK doesn't currently offer. Such as a POE video doorbell, Thermal/FLIR cameras, or a panoramic fisheye.ADD-ONs:I VERY strongly suggest pairing this with a Battery backup/surge protector. One that is large enough to keep the system running for 15-20 minutes is less than $50. This is the one I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HDC236Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01ie=UTF8&psc=1In the event of a power outage from a bad storm or bad actors (criminals) your system will keep recording for a while longer. Which might just come in handy if say, a tree branch falls and damages something, in this case the side of the pool, as a result of the storm that also killed the power. Or, say a group of vehicle burglars knock out power to most of the neighborhood at 1am to disable as many security systems, motion lights, street lights and cameras (most Wi-Fi cameras become essentially useless if you lose internet/Wi-Fi) as possible while they work (happened in my neighborhood).IN SUMMARY:Despite what I wish this system had or was capable of, or how I think it should be setup; I 100% received what I paid for and what was described. Reolink did not mislead with any of their claims or descriptions. Overall the kit is top of the line against its competitors in terms of Image quality, ease of setup, ease of use, software functionality & customer service (not necessarily knowledge). If you are on the fence I say GO FOR IT! At the end of the day the core purpose of a system like this is to provide the maximum amount of evidence to the police in the event that a crime is committed against you, your property or anything within the view of the cameras. This system does that 24/7- 365. It never sleeps and, as long as you point the cameras in the right direction, is always watching your back.If you are on the fence, I say GO FOR IT! At the end of the day the core purpose of a system like this is to provide the maximum amount of evidence to the police in the event that a crime is committed against you, your property or anything within the view of the cameras. This system does that like a champ, 24/7- 365. It never sleeps and, as long as you point the cameras in the right direction, is always watching your back.

2: I bought the cameras in response to a criminally minded neighbor who has been a problem for me and my family. I have 3 online. They record almost 2 weeks of 4k video with no audio although I could enable audio at anytime. The cameras are powered over PoE (Power over Ethernet). The power is provided by the ethernet cable from the NVR; no other power source is required, but they can operate with an external power source as well. They are waterproof and provide a continuous stream of video and audio. I can view the video from my phone via the Reolink app anywhere. While at home, any device on the same home network can access the video feed via the Reolink app or a web browser with the IP of the NVR.The UI is clunky but it's easy to view video from anytime during the last 2 weeks. The software is pretty good at distinguishing between cars and people. I can select people only and see who has been on my property with relative ease.It feature motion alerts, but I leave that to my previous installation of wireless Blink cameras. They work well in tandem with these 4k cameras. It has been a god-send to protect my home and family. It is well worth the money as physical deterrent, but the video can mean prosecution of those who wish to harm you or your property. My experience with cameras of lower resolution, like the Amazon Blink 1080P ones, has shown me you must have 4k to properly identify criminals.Consider a UPS (battery back up) to keep the cameras online during a power outage. I highly recommend honest hard working Americans to invest in this or a similar product ASAP.

3: This system is very good for its price category. These new "B800" true 4K UHD cameras are the real deal.As many previous comments and reviews note, these newest true-4K cameras are running behind on ReoLink's "software" support of their tremendously capable hardware. These cameras were "originally" intended to support the newer, and much more efficient, "H.265" video compression protocol. This would have offered almost 50% better compression-factor (read half-the-file-sizes) for the same video content/quality.For whatever "licensing" or "technical reason, ReoLink had to drop the ball on H.265 compression support. Very bad move on their part in my opinion. In addition, these cameras MUST be used only with the "8" channel version of ReoLink's NVR RLN8-410.The 16 channel ReoLink NVR is not capable of supporting 16 4K cameras (no doubt because of both 100 Mbps Ethernet bandwidth at full 4K frame rates and video bit-rates).Also as mentioned there is no ONVIF support for these "B800" model 4K cameras. Now the shortcomings of ReoLink's support of this great video hardware:1) No H.265 compression algorithms available (meaning HUGE H.264 file sizes). Even at a reduction to 12 fps and setting the maximum bit-rate to 1024 bps, one is looking at about 900 MB-per-30 minutes-per-4K-camera.2) The following features are NO LONGER AVAILABLE within the Windows (v.7.2.33) or Mac client version of theReoLink software for this NVR/Camera combination:a) No longer any "Fast-Forward" capability when the "target" is the NVR (as opposed to any of their otherindividual cameras).b) No longer any "Fluent"(highly compressed, low-frame-rate, and small image pixel count) stream available for download. This is a HUGE problem/oversight at these large 4K H.264 file sizes when reviewing stored video content from remote sites having limited UPSTREAM bandwidth; which is a very common requirement.c) The Windows client (v.7.2.33) easily "locks up" and must be restarted. This happens when one clicks quicklyamong the available software features (i.e. skipping to new timeline points, switching displayed cameras, having 'too many cameras' visible on the screen at once etc.,)Quitting and restarting the Windows "Client" software always "fixes" the issue, so I'm not sure that this is caused bythe software/hardware of the NVR, or the Windows "ReoLink client" software....The same lockup issue occurs for both the 32-bit and 64-bit version of the ReoLink Windows client.d) Most often one, or more, cameras do not immediately display their "live" video content. Sometimes aparticular camera NEVER displays in the "client" software until the client is again RESTARTED.3) There is no apparent way to "upgrade" the firmware of these new "B800" true 4K UHD cameras like there is for ALLof the other ReoLink camera hardware.4) There is NO embedded "web-server" software available for these new "B800"cameras.This is most likely related to why they MUST be used with the 8-channel RLN8-410 NVR and cannot be used stand-alone" as the other ReoLink cameras.5) While the inclusion of a 2 TB hard drive is commendable, even with only four 4K cameras connected to the NVR,and at even very modest bit-rates [1024kbps] and frame-rates [10fps], this would allow for only about 5 calendardays of "24x7" historical video content review. This is again, and in large part, due to the missing support for theH.265 compression algorithm.6) While not the fault of ReoLink, even true 4K cameras have a hard time reading (at least foreign) license plates at any"normal" distances. The genuine "4K" picture truly is impressive in all other regards. Even the "5MP, 4X optically-zoomable", ReoLink cameras (or any other brand) struggles with this particular task.7) The boys at the ReoLink software labs need to get much further, and much more frequently, "with the featuresprogramming" for the Windows/Mac client. I can achieve a better "remote viewing experience" (for both LIVE andPLAYBACK) simply using the ReoLink client software running "remotely" and then connecting to a local Windows PCusing Microsoft Windows 10 "Remote Desktop Client".As a software/electrical engineer myself, and given the fact that the ReoLink engineers own their entire video camera's tech-stack, as well as the NVR and camera's "firmware", this is not impressive.Even with all of the "bugs" above having been formally reported to, and then 'acknowledged' by ReoLink tech support, using the proper "customer support methods", the current v.7.2.2.33 software has not been "updated" in well over 3-months now.8) There is no way to control the nighttime IR illumination of these B800 cameras (the option is available "nowhere", as it "is" for all of the other ReoLink cameras)Niceties:1) NVR storage is very easily expandable using both any standard SATA drive [internal], or eSATA (using externally supplied 12VDC power) and an eSATA data cable.2) Unit is "tiny" (stores easily almost anywhere).3) Camera PoE is available at all 8 Ethernet ports.4) Video "clip" download feature works very nicely (but again, no longer supports downloading the much morecompact "Fluent" stream, as do all of the other ReoLink cameras.)5) Cameras are extremely well built for this price point.6) The Android and iOS versions of the ReoLink client are extremely usable and very functional, given enough internetbandwidth being available.7) Very impressive $price$/quality ratio.8) The nighttime "infrared LEDs" are actually quite usable for scene illumination when not enough natural light is present. This truly is a great system! It could, however, be even better if they work out some of the "kinks".
