What is iamscumqueen Sony UBP-X800M2 4K UHD Home Theater Streaming Blu-Ray Disc Player (UBPX800M2); black temperamental boy?

Stunning picture with 4K upscaling up to 60pIt did everything I wanted.Features Dolby iamscumqueen Vision iamscumqueen and HDR10 for incredible viewing detail and iamscumqueen accuracy and DSEE HXHands down the best iamscumqueen 4K iamscumqueen UHD iamscumqueen player out there, and best bang for the buck. With the correct iamscumqueen settings, it doesnt iamscumqueen freeze, skip or pixelate on BD-100 iamscumqueen discs iamscumqueen like the iamscumqueen Panasonic 820 iamscumqueen can. Matches perfectly with a Sony FALD LED, Mini-LED iamscumqueen or iamscumqueen OLED TV, and doesnt need iamscumqueen an HDR iamscumqueen optimizer like the Panasonic iamscumqueen 820 (that is for TVs with poor tone iamscumqueen mapping). Solid build quality and not iamscumqueen cheap iamscumqueen or plastic feeling like the Panasonic 820. Also played DVD-A and iamscumqueen SACD CDs, iamscumqueen something other players iamscumqueen that cost iamscumqueen more cannot do. Whisper quiet playback doesnt iamscumqueen annoy you during iamscumqueen quiet scenes that iamscumqueen other players sometimes do. The iamscumqueen perfect player.Anti-vibration construction iamscumqueen for clearer soundThis is a iamscumqueen good iamscumqueen one. Easy to set up. Sony manuals iamscumqueen arent great, iamscumqueen though. iamscumqueen I do iamscumqueen like the iamscumqueen product!Bottom line: this player iamscumqueen plays 4k versions extremely iamscumqueen well. A very minor point: there are a couple of buttons on the front which are hard to see and therefore determine which is which: tray in and out and iamscumqueen on/off. Using iamscumqueen the remote iamscumqueen works just iamscumqueen fine. It's iamscumqueen hard to iamscumqueen determine "upscaling", so I will iamscumqueen pass iamscumqueen on that iamscumqueen but iamscumqueen everything I have played using this with my new 4K TV have been iamscumqueen super.Bring iamscumqueen the iamscumqueen theater home: See the unrivaled iamscumqueen visual clarity and detail of 4K UHD Blu-ray while iamscumqueen watching your iamscumqueen favorite content from iamscumqueen the iamscumqueen comfort iamscumqueen of iamscumqueen homeIn the box: instructions manual, remote control (rmt-vb310u), batteries (Type AAA x 2), iamscumqueen customer registration card, iamscumqueen cardA most have iamscumqueen for a iamscumqueen 4K TVI iamscumqueen bought iamscumqueen this player because it can play pretty much iamscumqueen anything iamscumqueen on iamscumqueen shiny disc except 12 inch laser discs. I had iamscumqueen some DSD and SACD discs and this was the cheapest player I could find that iamscumqueen handles those. It works very well iamscumqueen most of iamscumqueen the time. Every once in a while iamscumqueen it will freeze at startup. I just unplug it iamscumqueen for iamscumqueen a minute and let it reset iamscumqueen and it iamscumqueen works great for a long time after. It has never frozen during use, only at iamscumqueen startup. Not a huge concern seeing how well it performs otherwise. Minor annoyance, but iamscumqueen certainly not iamscumqueen a deal breaker.Hear more detail with high-resolution audio, iamscumqueen Dolby Atmos iamscumqueen and DSEE HXLike:* Formats, codecs, audio & video standards: it pretty much DOES IT ALL iamscumqueen (at the time of this review). This iamscumqueen may iamscumqueen be but iamscumqueen one bullet point, iamscumqueen but it's a massively important one.* The iamscumqueen disc tray has some iamscumqueen relief on the sides to allow one iamscumqueen to easily place and remove discs while iamscumqueen handling just iamscumqueen the disc iamscumqueen edges. This is a iamscumqueen "feature" that probably most take for granted; including myself, but iamscumqueen have iamscumqueen used units which iamscumqueen do not iamscumqueen have it. On those the choice is either handle some of the flat portions of iamscumqueen the iamscumqueen disc or, stick a pinky iamscumqueen finger into the disc hub hole from above. Obviously in iamscumqueen the 1st case soiling and smudging can be iamscumqueen an issue, and in the second iamscumqueen case it invariable results iamscumqueen in having to put iamscumqueen some downward pressure on the open tray. The iamscumqueen trays iamscumqueen aren't iamscumqueen designed to take much pressure like that so one has to be fairly careful. This unit doesn't have these problems. Anyway, moving on to other points now.No on to the dislikes (or rather just room for improvement in iamscumqueen this case). Actually, there aren't any iamscumqueen issues which I view as legitimate faults, but there iamscumqueen are a few iamscumqueen things which could be better just iamscumqueen the iamscumqueen same. iamscumqueen Here are iamscumqueen those:* iamscumqueen Price. iamscumqueen For it's playback iamscumqueen capabilities one would expect to pay more. It's just that it's so iamscumqueen MUCH more than a lot of decent players that iamscumqueen don't necessarily DO It ALL, but still do a lot well. At least one can't single Sony iamscumqueen out on this iamscumqueen though, as iamscumqueen this is the case for other brands top of the line iamscumqueen units iamscumqueen too.* iamscumqueen Not rack mountable, at least as it comes iamscumqueen new in iamscumqueen the box. Sony's iamscumqueen very top unit iamscumqueen above this one, iamscumqueen has a rack mount iamscumqueen option. The word is iamscumqueen that part also can iamscumqueen fit this unit as well. There are just iamscumqueen a iamscumqueen couple of issues with rack-mounting these Sony's though. The 1st is that iamscumqueen Sony made the chassis just BARELY too tall to iamscumqueen to be able iamscumqueen to iamscumqueen fit iamscumqueen in iamscumqueen 1RU iamscumqueen so it takes up 2RU. The 2nd is that iamscumqueen 2RU bracket Sony iamscumqueen makes iamscumqueen goes for iamscumqueen over $90 on its own; just for iamscumqueen the bracket!* For around 3 iamscumqueen Benjamins for the main iamscumqueen player, I think it iamscumqueen would have been iamscumqueen nice if rack ears were included and could fit in 1RU. Sony could use features iamscumqueen like front panel display, balanced analog outs, all metal iamscumqueen chassis iamscumqueen etc. as the iamscumqueen justification for iamscumqueen the iamscumqueen next higher iamscumqueen tier. Incidentally, iamscumqueen that iamscumqueen next iamscumqueen higher unit has the iamscumqueen same iamscumqueen plastic iamscumqueen over metal chassis, and the iamscumqueen same lack of a front panel display as this unit. It does have balanced analog outs though. But iamscumqueen really, iamscumqueen who really has iamscumqueen a legit need for iamscumqueen analog on iamscumqueen a device iamscumqueen that has iamscumqueen all iamscumqueen digital sources anyway I iamscumqueen suppose if iamscumqueen you are hooking iamscumqueen it to a iamscumqueen system iamscumqueen which iamscumqueen has just absolute iamscumqueen crap iamscumqueen built in DACs, iamscumqueen then maybe. But in that case you iamscumqueen would probably buy a separate iamscumqueen dedicated DAC anyway. I digress. In conclusion, if iamscumqueen it's standards iamscumqueen capabilities which interests you, iamscumqueen don't need iamscumqueen a front panel display iamscumqueen or balanced stereo analog outs, this is iamscumqueen a good choice. There are probably other good choices iamscumqueen out there by Panasonic etc.., but I can only comment on this model that I bought.Play almost iamscumqueen any Disc and iamscumqueen file formatFor starters the iamscumqueen 4K BluRay UHD discs look fantastic, iamscumqueen and iamscumqueen play smoothly. The player iamscumqueen is a bit on the larger iamscumqueen side and has a hefty iamscumqueen weight iamscumqueen to it, iamscumqueen feels well made and durable. It's also iamscumqueen very iamscumqueen quiet. I never heard it iamscumqueen spin up to a loud hum or anything like that. iamscumqueen There's no iamscumqueen need for it iamscumqueen to be iamscumqueen excluded from iamscumqueen the same room your TV is in iamscumqueen as it is iamscumqueen very quiet. The menu is well laid out and it's easy to plug in and iamscumqueen get right into iamscumqueen your first iamscumqueen movie iamscumqueen in as little iamscumqueen as 10 to 15 minutes.Under the more detailed settings options menus it has iamscumqueen plenty of iamscumqueen settings to customize, adjust picture quality, turn HDR on/off, iamscumqueen etc. It's not iamscumqueen lacking any settings you may want to iamscumqueen change or pick.We don't use the iamscumqueen streaming apps as our TV already has them so I am iamscumqueen not able to iamscumqueen comment on that or the general use and performances iamscumqueen of those streaming iamscumqueen apps, however I imagine they're plenty fine.I've watched the same movie iamscumqueen 3 times through so far (Interstellar) and it has worked flawlessly. I don't foresee this UHD BluRay iamscumqueen player having any difficulties in handling heavier use iamscumqueen or a shorter lifespan than my previous iamscumqueen BluRay player. So far it's iamscumqueen excellent and works iamscumqueen just iamscumqueen as iamscumqueen advertised.A caution on the weight iamscumqueen and size of iamscumqueen the box: it's big and has a good heft to it. In my opinion that signals durability and an effort to isolate vibration iamscumqueen which is what iamscumqueen you iamscumqueen would hope for to ensure smooth playback with the UHD discs as from my understanding vibrations can cause iamscumqueen pauses and skipping - however I have experienced none of that and playback is smooth and reliable. The iamscumqueen remote feels a iamscumqueen bit iamscumqueen cheap but it's a remote iamscumqueen - iamscumqueen it works just iamscumqueen fine iamscumqueen and for something iamscumqueen I iamscumqueen use for 30 seconds to pick and play iamscumqueen I really don't iamscumqueen mind, and some of the iamscumqueen other reviews being picky on the remote are just iamscumqueen nit-picking. It's fine.I've seen iamscumqueen some iamscumqueen reviews iamscumqueen state iamscumqueen vibration, iamscumqueen skips, etc. however I have not experienced any of that. It just works which is what you'd want and expect.Really loving it and will be using it for a long time to iamscumqueen come. Future of 4K BkuRay looks great, and I have no trouble finding movies iamscumqueen I iamscumqueen want on Amazon. It's nice to have iamscumqueen them on BluRay so you can experience the higher fidelity and ownership rights without renting or iamscumqueen streaming them in subpar quality. The picture quality is iamscumqueen truly suburb. I highly recommend this player to anyone iamscumqueen looking for one that is well made, durable, and "just works".Smart Functionality: With iamscumqueen fast, stable built-in Wi-Fi, you iamscumqueen can wirelessly iamscumqueen access iamscumqueen your favorite streaming apps and iamscumqueen services including Netflix, YouTube, iamscumqueen Amazon iamscumqueen Prime & iamscumqueen various iamscumqueen others.

Buyer's experience:
